is it possible to play the latest Elite Mod on Windows 11? If so, how?

Just downloaded the game after all these years, was excited to get into a lobby and observe, possibly play a few rounds, the usual. But I couldn't get LIBERTAS to work on Windows 11; I click it and nothing happens. I tried setting it to compatibility mode: Windows 8, but it didn't work, either.

Is it still possible to play this game with Elite Mod 2k22? What am I doing wrong?

Just found the FAQ - I hadn't started the game before installing LIBERTAS (ELITE MOD). Still, now that I have, it still doesn't work. Trying to download the direct X files from microsoft for the game to see if that's the issue.

After reading the FAQ, clicking on the game first, then installing windows Direct X from online, which worked; LIBERTAS is still not doing anything when I click on it. The game runs fine without elite mod, but I don't want to play without ;(

Any ideas?
