Faction with the least micro-managing demand?
Faction with the least micro-managing demand?
Hello there,
New to Elite. Right now my biggest problem is learning to micro every unit. I tend to lose many of them.
I think eldars, for example, should not be a good starting race for me.
Any suggestions?
Cheers

Depends on the build, most people would tell you that chaos is the easiest but microing a heavy 5 unit chaos t1 is harder than microing an amoving ork shoota blob and so on, just focus on switching through units using hotkeys and you'll have better than average micro
also eldar being hard to play is bullshit made up by idiots

Eldar. I'm not even kidding they have way more anti-all and a-move units then they should.
Re: Faction with the least micro-managing demand?
If you take scouts out of the equation then SM is pretty straight forward and "easy".
If micro is really your only problem then you could just play SM/chaos and go double tactical marines out of the game in every game. It's objectively bad composition in many cases but it's not very micro intensive and it makes your games all about positioning and game sense rather than micro.

Re: Faction with the least micro-managing demand?
Warboss, CL, PC are among the easier heroes to play if you go for very standard builds like 2 Tic + CSM + Havoc, or 2 CSM + Havoc. Especially 2 CSM builds are less micro intensive
Eldar are more on the micro intensive side as they rely a bit more on ability usage than some other races. They can also bleed a bit easily. Though once you get your basics down they aren't that hard to play.
Or you know. Just pick whatever the f you want and play it until you get the basics down. That's totally viable too

Chaos is actually my "main" race XD. Always liked them, but I find myself losing heretics and all like crazy. it's been many years as well.
I said that about eldar because almost every unit among them has like 2 skills or so (just what I remember from back when I played retribution).
Would you recommend SM over Chaos?
Also, edit: hotkeys you mean 1,2,3,4...? F1-F4 base+globals
Are there others that I'm missing?
thanks for the answer

Yes, Eldars are pretty strong, and cool also. Just too squishy for me (I tend to lose units faster than with chaos XD)
What does "a-move" stand for? thanks man

Will try that, thanks. I play chaos mainly and they are pretty similar to SM (as they should).
Btw, about resources and tech. How much generators you get once you've done the power node? When should I tech to tier 2 (in-game time orientation)?
I always struggle with that. Maybe I should be in T1 for a little while and I am just being hasty?
PS: watched many videos of you on Indrid's channel. Hope one day I reach your skill level XD

Chaos Lord main here^^
What does "Tic" stand for? Sorry, bit nub with the jargon atm.
The suppression unit always comes handy indeed.
I also thought about that, thing is I only play againts people (since the AI sucks) and I'm really frustrated overall...
I will keep reading and watching all I can, and try to focus every unit in the map.
Thank you all guys

I think it means heretic.
There was some talks about à noob guide some months ago, I think it would be useful.

You're missing q/w for loads of abilities. H for repair. X for retreat. A for attack-moving. G for attack grounding. And D for forcing melee with a ranged unit.
Note this assumes grid keys, which you should put on as it makes the hotkeys far easier to memorise. It's in one of the options menus.
Lets make Ordo Malleus great again!

Re: Faction with the least micro-managing demand?
The easiest heroes to play are the ones that rely on being close together on one screen with very little micro. So basically Plague Champion or Apothecary.
Try to learn hotkeys rather than just click everywhere. It has to be learnt slowly, but it'll be better when you do. Keep in mind that based on hand sizes it's easier to hit up to 5 so after that you might want to click or start grouping.

Re: Faction with the least micro-managing demand?
A-moving = attack-moving
Tics = Heretics
Teching to Tier 2 depends entirely on your gameplan. You can go for a fast T2 or go heavy T1 and go T2 later.
Gens also depends on your build. Usually it is node or node + one gen and then your first power purchase. Then rest of the gens whenever. Depends if you go for more squads, then you most likely delay buying power, if you go for upgrades or T2 next, you get more gens as soon as your first T1,5 squad is bought.

Oh, I see, thanks XD
That detergent HAHA!
yeah, I knew those, althought I didn't listed them. I was wondering if they were commands like "inactive worker", "inactive siege unit", "etc in this game.
Any way, I'm getting my ass kicked so hard whatever I play, For the Emeperor, it hurts.

Re: Faction with the least micro-managing demand?
That's kinda how it is when you jump into an older game. Most of the players are fairly experienced. Though there are newer players as well so you are not totally alone
