Khorne Shrine VFX question

Why would ranged units NOT receive a melee damage buff? Sounds like working as intended to me on first blush.

If you're only concerned with havocs here the answer is: they have an ongoing melee only damage buff from the shrine.

A few other things might need clarification based on reading that
  • gold ring fx generally indicates that the unit has some offensive type buff ongoing
  • whether it's contributing to whatever the unit is doing is up to the player to figure out/have no idea about
  • buffs generally aren't conditionally applied based on a unit's combat state (though possible to add)
  • there's more than 1 damage modifier, you can set specific modifiers to ranged or melee weapons like in this case
