How it looks right now.

I removed blood stains, Ork runes and stitches from his shirt and recoloured it white;
in the hope to make it look more like a soldier's tank top / shirt.

I also removed the tribal tattoos from his arms, and neck, just to make him look a bit less savage.

Pants got a three-colour Camo Pattern, tied to the first, second and third colour option.

I gave him a teamcolourable "Imperial" winged Skull tattoo on his shoulder and a "Cadian" Regiment insignia on his leg piece.

Happy over any kind of feed back / criticism. ( Especially regarding the camo )
Any ideas for changes or stuff I should revert?

Uh well, its not too difficult, I guess I could do that when I'm done with my current project.

Playing around with new patterns for the Blood Axe Trukk;
I think the flame-y paint job doesnt really fit their military look.

Indrid's cast yesterday, reminded me of how difficult it can be to tell whats a reinforcing drop pod, and whats a VenDread one.

So I started working on an alternative skin for the DreadnoughtPods.

Perhaps you could also resize it? Those drop pod models look much bigger in reference to the dreadnought than in the game.

Yeah, Dreadnoughts dont actually fit in normal Drop Pods I think;
but resizing is not a thing I can do.

Hmm possibly, not really sure what characterizes them other than yellow and the odd hood though.

Plan is to get the Ork packs released first, shortly followed by Catachans and Vostroyans then move on to reworking the Chaos packs - Alpha Legion, Night Lords and Iron Warriors, with a little Black Legion too.

Then finally the big four, Death Guard, Thousand Sons, Worldeaters and possibly Emperors Children.

Quite a bit to get through plus various odd jobs, could probs resize that nice new drop pod pretty easily.

Thats quite a list you got there; but I wont try to stop you^^

Yeah, I dont think there is really too much to work with, with Bad Moonz;
they like yellow, gold teeth and smurf hats.

So, you plan to make a full DLC pack for Vostroyans? (yay)

Yup, a full pack of Vostroyans, just need to sort out some texture issues.

EDIT: Texture problems sorted. Good to go with the Vostroyans.

downloadable here

Contains Textures for Ork boyz, Nobz, Trukks and the Warboss.

Team Colours are tied to the Orks' pants instead of shirts.
The camo pattern uses the first, second and third colour slot.

Removed blood stains, Ork runes, tribal tattoos, scars and stitches;
and replaced them with camo patterns, and imperial inspired insignia.

As allways, if you should notice any glitches or consider something to be of too low quality, let me know.

I plan to polish them up further in the future;
but decided to put them out there so that sterling can finish his own blood axe pack allready.

I made this purely for myself; but I upload it just in case,
No disrespect ment to Kilgarn; but I do really like the actual StormTrooper Design.

Replaces Kilgarn's InqST portrait with an eddited version of the IG one; to get closer to the fluff and the ingame model.

Nice job man, I've got plenty of spare time on Saturday to get them finished up too.

Another question - is it a relatively quick job to swap which colour (primary, trim) etc a texture is set to?

Ah nice, might have a mess around with that. Regarding those scouts the animations that would be most useful would be guardsman to heretic - then people could start on some alt models that don't rely on the Wordbearer cultists...

Eh, that depends on. If I just want to tie an allready colourable area to a new slot, thats a work of a few seconds.

But If I want to make a previously not colourable area colourable, or the other way around ( Like in case with the Berserkers ) it takes a bit of time if you want to do it right.

Units have a so called "tem" map ( next to their dif, ocl, nrml, spc and dirt maps )
Tem maps got 4 channels: red, green, blue and Alpha ( that one is a bitch ).

Everything in the tem-map that contains red will be coloured by the first colour slot,
green is tied to the second, blue to the third and the alpha channel to the forth slot.
If I mark an area as purple for example, it will mix the first and third colour slots together.

Dif ( main textures ) are usually just grey, the tem map gives them colour in the game.

For the Berserkers for example I got to recolour all the grey bits that were previously just tied to the red tem channel, into an actual red by hand and remove the same areas within the tem map, otherwhise the game would put a teamcolour paint job ontop of the allready colour texture and we would get a completly different colour in the game.

(de-) Colouring the dif maps can be a bit tricky because you dont want loose details like dirt, bloodstains, scratches, bolts etc., small stuff on the armour that you dont want to be paintable.

Edit: not good at explaining

Ah nice, might have a mess around with that. Regarding those scouts the animations that would be most useful would be guardsman to heretic - then people could start on some alt models that don't rely on the Wordbearer cultists..

Allready got the heretic animtions extracted, might extract the Guard stuff too and do some testing.

Just tried using the Heretic model with Guard animations, sadly, doesnt really work out.

Heretics chest is too wide, in fact they would propably work better with CHaos Marine Animtions than with Guard ones.

But I found fist fight animtions for IG^^ not sure why those exist.
