Grey Knights Super heavy unit

Postby flixlix10 » Tue 31 Mar, 2015 2:21 pm

So far, the GK do not have a super heavy unit like the CSM great unclean one and the IG baneblade, so I was wondering if the Dreadknight was going to be added as the GK super heavy unit. If yes, I currently have a "friend" who is making the model. He suggested that until he was able to make an animation for it, he would try to use the wraithlord's animation. Once it will be done, I can ask him to send you the file.

So will the Dreadknight be added as the GK super heavy unit?

What about LRC? Also GK got soo much fatass units at t3 that i dont think they need more - termis, palas and BC himself takes forever to shoot down (+ LRC)

Yes they do. You drop it in via the global bar. It's the land raider crusader variant.

Derp I had completely forgotten that thing...
But what if it was replaced with the dreadknight? after all, it would be nice to add some things that would really differentiate SM, CSM and GK because I see at least one of those colossal METUL BAWKS in every game...
I can just see it being like a Venerable dreadnought on steroids with a nemesis force-sword and maybe upgrades that add a psy-canon or a heavy-flamer to replace the wrist-mounted auto-canon it would come with!

Just thinking about it is making me moist...

We shyould wait until Caeltos makes his mind up about where he wants to take GK, I've read that he wants to make them more Daemonhunters-like. We'll have to wait :?

Deamonhunters-like? Aren't they already? I mean, they have nemesis force-swords, which are a scourge for deamons, and pretty much all the units have psyckic skills.

Well, there is no such thing like Demonhunters anymore. They were replaced by Grey Knights :)

-_-

The Codex became more narrowed down as the focus shifted to GK. Caeltos has states he wants to change GK to be less of the actual GK. This is why I said "GK will be more Daemonhunters-like".

PLEASE.
Let's stay on track.
We need the dreadknight.
We need it.
Shaddap don't question it.
We need the dreadknight cause diversity is a good thing and I already got someone on it.

I currently have a "friend" who's making the model and who will try to pair it with the wraithlord's animation until he makes one especially for the dreadknight.

Might work, but then again I've seen some funny things when the skeletons don't quite match.

I hardly see a need for a dreadknight when GK already has a walker AND dozens of tanky melee units. If anything their lack of a T3 AV platform (due to being a non-stereotype faction) is by far a bigger issue.

That said, if you MUST beg for a dreadknight, at least try to go for some fan interpretation like: THIS
instead of the wardtrash that is: This.

I remember there was a dude that start modelling it, was at a good point, and then he disappear.
I doubt he will come back to finish the job.

No, I really am grateful for the effort being put into it. I never thought we'd see a Dreadknight. Now there's a possibility again.

I must say that my "friend" isn't a proffesional modeler (he does this on his free time like a hobby), so do not expect the eighth world's Wonder when it'll be done. It will probably need the gentle touch of a modeler who has years of experience in order to be really good. And the wraithlord's animation skeleton thingy might need a bit of tweaking in order to fit the model properly until he makes a full set of animations specially for the DK.

Well I'm very sure that someone like Sterling would love to get his hands on a Dreadknight model and touch it up.

That looks like GK cent. Seeing how well you can sell those, I won't be surprised if GK will actually receive rules for cents :P

That said, seriously, what do you people have in mind for dreadknight? As it was said, there are already plenty of beatsticks in GK army.

P.S. I'd prefer it to be more enclosed visually. It's way to hilarious otherwise.

He's using the dreadnought's animation so far, so the guns can fire, but the melee can be wierd looking.
The fists just fly at the enemy.
