What next people?
Re: What next people?
I never said either one is stronger nor do I want anything changed. I just don't think sniper Scouts are useless vs Eldar simply because Rangers are better snipers.
Re: What next people?
I'm so god damn tired of this bloody debate about QQ scout sniper r suck rangers op
They're both good. Just because you suck with doesn't mean they're bad. I hate looking at things in a vaccum.
And stop insulting each other. I've had it. Literally. If X person insults one more player, they're out for good. Literally. Last chance.

He wasn't going to kick you out for the comment, but he shall kick you out for the double post.
I want to see Conscripts, they would make excellent subjects for slaughter for the Plague God.

The internal battery has run dry, the game can now be played. However, clock based events will no longer occur.

"The Codex Astartes does not support this action."
"Whatever BOOM!"
Now I am aware that I am completely off topic.
On topic, that new PC armour in the other thread would be a nice thing to see next, though I know that PC has been given loooooooaaaaads of buffs, so it isn't anything that we need it the near future, though what is, is a Slaaneshi hero.

Re: What next people?
Thought there were arguments about whether a Slaaneshi hero should either be a Commander or a Sub-Commander were it to be implemented? Or am I mistaken and he will be a Commander in his own rights should the UI mod by Crumpets be finished?
Re: What next people?
NOTE: I just love watching casts (cant play vs humans for shit), so everything I know about balance basically comes from Indrid's commentary and some forum reading, therefore please take no offense in this suggestion (as fantastical as it is):
"Mortis/fire support" mode for dreadnoughts/walkers - a T3 upgrade allowing another (identical?) ranged weapon. It almost reduces their melee damage to nil (though watching a C-Dread whack things with its autocannon barrels and launchers seems funny), but turns it into a long range, armoured fire support walker that does not require setup. Possible speed reduction? Loss of melee resistance aura?
I am thinking primarily in terms of dreadnaughts here, but for the other races:
-Wraithlord replaces its sword with another catapult arm and can have another shoulder mount;
(non walker balancing):
-Sentinel can have another weapon (maybe move this upgrade to T2 given their armour);
-Carnifex can have another venom cannon/strangler - big reduction in melee claw damage??
By the way, any chance of (snaring/non-snaring) lascannons/twin links on dreads? Too powerful/unnecessary?
I understand that assets generation, modelling, coding, and balancing for things like this cannot be done with a click of the fingers, and that everything we have so far is due to the hard work of many on the Elite team, I just wanted to air my fantasy.
Much thanks and love to the players and modders who keep this great game going!

Theory.
I have never played vs a human......

Re: What next people?
I don't know if it would work, but I think it might be something that someone with the know-how might want to try out. I can see it being interesting, but it would mean misplacing your dread just a little bit could cause it to be lost instantly. I like it, but the ranged capabilities might be too good whilst losing it to melee might be too easy. I don't know, it isn't for me to balance. And yes, snaring lascannons on vehicles is ridiculous . I do like this idea, I just don't know how easy executing it would be.

Re: What next people?
Registered so I could ask about this, what are the chances of implementing Wraithblades for Eldar? I know I desperately want something that can take a hit and I'm a sucker for Iyanden style gameplay.

Re: What next people?
Wraithblade + Wraithguard combo would be too painful though.
For hard-hitting melee units in T3, Eldar already have Seer Councils and trust me, they can really wreck stuff.

Re: What next people?
Pretty happy with units and stuff maybe see a sub hero for chaos as they need 1 also for guard, a agreement of melee resistance on dreads.

Re: What next people?
Yes, perhaps a decrease of the aura. 40% is something we have now found to be a little too high. 25% is more adequate. Stops TB Carnifex's being unkillable in melee.

I think Carnifex is the only walker that is probably too strong with the aura.
I suggest a little nerf to the hp of the carnifex while keeping the aura as it is.

Probably not as painful as it might immediately seem. Remember the friendly fire dealt by wg.
I've been doing a lot of theorycrafting for wraithblades, as I'm looking to develop them for a dow1 project. In ELITE, a possible sensible implementation would be for them to be the T3 heavy hitters while having seer council returned to their farseer-unique status. I've seen a fair bunch of QQing about seer council, both in terms of their performance and their fluff - a seer council is only a seer council when there's a farseer present. (Not to say that all or even most QQing is valid, of course.)
A potentially interesting way to introduce them and have them adhere to the overall playstyle of the eldar would be to give them relatively lower hp models, but have them come out of the gate with forceshields. Clever deployment and it won't make much of a difference that they're almost reliant on their forceshields. Poor positioning or play with the units would crack the shield and put them in a dangerous place. Good eldar unit: very strong when in the right place at the right time, very brittle in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Subject to testing of course. But perhaps wraithblades are not of interest to Caeltos and seer council should stay where they are.
Re: What next people?
That idea of them coming from gates makes me think of Codex edition where super tanky Wraithblades spawn from gates with no build time.

Nerfing the performance vs ranged av because...?ChrisNihilus wrote:I suggest a little nerf to the hp of the carnifex while keeping the aura as it is.
Re: What next people?
Because it's notoriously strong vs ranged AV as it is with its CRAZY HIGH DAMAGE charge (maybe that could get toned down, so it actually is an escape mechanism and not a let's wipe your whole army instantly thing) and the endless rippers. Only made worse by capillary towers and their rippers...

Re: What next people?
Yeah the problem with the carni was always that he was too strong against ranged AV, between the charge and rippers, lascannons or ranged dreds are not usable against it, if anything I would straight up remove the rippers spawn, it has always been to good and now that they are purchasable from the towers there is no reason for their exsistence on the thornback.

DD and brightlance WL for sure are OP with melee resist

I'm pretty sure you don't have to load more than one squad there anymore.
Not on topic: something that would be great (unless broken) but something we won't ever see in DoW2 is bikers.
Right now I'd like to see how army picking interface rework will turn out more than anything.

Re: What next people?
Before you even put a bike unit, you need to fight with DoW2 Pathing first XD
Re: What next people?
Bikes are too fast, the pathing doesn't work for them, and no one would want them anyway, because going by TT standards no one plays bikes unless they play Ravenwing, White Scars (no one plays White Scars) or Eldar/Dark Eldar.

Going on TT standards enough people play (jet)bikes.
+1T, 12" move, jink etc. Grav guns on bikes, nuf said. Eldar jetbikes, nuf said. etc.

Re: What next people?
What about the replacement of Loyal til the end? Is that still in the works?
Re: What next people?
Bikes are everywhere on TT, either as relentless platform, mobile troops choices or even as a part of somewhat cheesy lists (like jetseer council). It just saddens me that they are more effective as bruteforce rather than specialist units it seems.
That said, I think I've said "will never happen in DoW2" in the very beginning
Tbh I really don't get what's wrong with LttE conceptually. People use FTE all the time. LttE is less reliable ofc (but we should consider we're talking about commander that can sacrifice at least 2 models outright willingly making LttE more reliable), but potentially stronger. I don't think there's something that can't be solved by number tweaking. It may still be situational, but it doesn't mean it's necessarily bad, I think.

Coming from a LC main, LTTE is great imo.
Re: What next people?
New heroes !
Re: What next people?
General rumblings are pointing towards Dark Eldar being next methinks.
Re: What next people?
Where will you get models? TAU is most likely to be seen in the mod amongst other unrepresented races since there are a lot of models.
