Torpid's Elite League Season #4 Balance Gambit

With my previous winning of Elite League Season #2 & #3, as well as a flawless group stage in elite league season #1 until I had to laeve the league due to being busy IRL, I want to do something different for Elite League Season #4 and potentially give others a good chance of beating me.

Specifically, I would like the community to choose my heroes for me for this league. With the idea that I only get to play the 5 weakest heroes in 1v1. My opinions aside, if we can reach a concensus about which 5 heroes I should use that isn't very divisive, then I'll lock myself into those specific 5 heroes here. Just state below the 5 heroes you think are the weakest in 1v1, or that you think I personally am the weakest with.

It makes the league a bit more competitive, makes things harder for me (Bestnoob, go go go, this is your league), and also allows me to try my best to make the perhaps harder to use, heroes, good. Which might be an interesting investigation into their balance.

How about going full random?

A lot less fun for me for two reasons:

A) I can't practise cheese strats with a hero before-hand and take them into the league

B) All the strategy element of reserving your hero picks, timing your vetoes correct and getting good maps during the lobby is cut out.

How about you don't play at all for season 4 ? You've already won twice and gave boss a permanent PTSD along the way

I like his awareness of the meta though, dropping the bomb that is the top 5 1v1 heroes atm.

Though personally, I'd say if I was try harding i'd probably go with:

LC/LG/FS/LA/KN

I've been speaking about this topic to a lot of people and they have been all agreeing that CS and Apo are hot garbage in 1v1, so at this rate I'll likely pick them two. RA is also not really seen or represented and I personally find him very micro intensive to use, way wore than HT/LA...

I also called you a smug bastard, and I'm not sure if your awareness level reached that point yet.

Put a little walk alongside the shit-talk and sign yourself up to the league already. Perhaps this time around you might reach the quarter finals =D

And if you're feeling real spicy. Don't pick IG.

? TM, WB, CL, CS, BC ?

RA imo is one of the best 1v1 heroes.
The tunnels are too much pressure in 1v1 and on a big map like leviathan hive they are almost an instant win.

Forget GK, not a real race till they get 3 heroes. Ignore my sig >_<

Other than that I'm thinking it looks like RA/CS/Apo/TM so far.

But... If it gets to the finals it is BO5 and you cannot replay your heroes.

So... Instant loss if I don't win before game5? xD

My oh my. Torpid claims (for years) to be the best player. How about this, 3 fun-facts:

I. Some players are not allowed to participate in tournaments.

II. Not to mention that he also forged his own patches for this game
(rest of players are destined to play the game sterile & styless — Torpid style).

III. And lastly — his height is 160 ÷ 165 cm (explains previous). :P

I mean it's not even a debate.

Not only have been #1 on ladder during times when it is at its peak in terms of average trueskill, I also have had large win streaks on RETAIL in the last 2years playing random vs critical32 who is probably the best player there and he wasn't playing random, he was playing the clearly OP orks. And of course I've beaten all the best players on stream not just on a one off but consistently over and over in 1v1 and 2v2. On top of that I can play every single race, whereas players like yourself struggle to play just 2. And I've won multiple tournaments and done very well on all major tournaments of elite, that is the championship and the leagues. And the best bit is I don't even play actively anymore and haven't for years.

You say the meta is forged around me, yet you seem to be neglecting how BLs have received no nerfs during the time in which I was balance lead, in fact the PCs bloodletters are stronger than ever before! And we all know Arctic frenzy style = bloodletter spam or shuriken spam.

Ok, ok. Wonder if you could say the same if you werent allowed to skill
measuring contests (cant be said about dow2 tournaments? or can it).

That is what they were saying years ago, it was proven wrong, but some players still spread this to justify not letting me into tournaments.

Or perhaps you are mistaking me for someone else who did that.

I don't understand the context. A GRUDGE MATCH is basically just a bo3. Go stomp Torpid on stream and that should be good.

Atlas has a point, you don't need to be allowed into tournaments to beat torpid on stream. BO3 (or BO5) GRUDGE MATCH! Make it happen. I'm sure torpid won't refuse the challenge after what he's said on this thread.

BO5 Random maps. Random hero. Simple?

Torpid should give himself a real challenge. Random? Not underpowered enough. Underpowered heroes? Not good enough. He should go a...

NO HEROES CHALLENGE

Not only is this challenging, but it also brings into the spotlight as to how much certain factions are more reliant on their heroes than others.

I've always wanted viable, but still crazy alternate game rules in this game and there are other ways to handicap the pro player. What if Torpid concedes if his VPs fall below 100? What if he sacrifices his starting unit? These are all honour based rules reliant on the word of the player, but I think it's worthwhile to consider.
