How about a possible so some die last models make them immune to a certain type of KB when there is at least one no_leader model in the squad. Make the Flesh hook do that type of KB. SO it effects everyone else normally except those few leaders like scout sergs.

There problem solved.

This sounds like something that could be tried out, no? I quite like this idea.

Well if I understand correctly the issue is just that LA can flesh hook the scout sarge while out of detection, so the solution is either to nerf the range of the flesh hook or to increase the detection range of the sarge and shoota nobz no ? I agree it seems really cheesy to wipe a squad.

If you increase the sight range or decrease the range of the flesh hook you are not only targeting what is "the problem" here.
If you increase the sight range you make those detector squads suddenly way better versus anything infiltrated which is a big deal.
If you decrease the range of flesh hook you make the ability straight up worse versus everything else ass well.
Say for example versus suppression teams where you flesh hook the setup model.

I'd prefer a straight up rework for flesh hook rather than making squad leaders more or less immune to flesh hook.

We could just give it the Full-Auto treatment - turn it into a targeted stun ability rather than a bunch of knockback?
It could deal damage on top of the stun, or even a damage amplifier debuff?

That would be a pretty significant rework, but it would allow the LA to still disrupt setup teams/squad leaders without any frustrating die-last shenanigans. It would also make the ability and LA in general significantly better against tanky melee heroes like CL, etc.

Yanking stuff into a swarm of nasty nids is kinda the lictors thing.

yeah but it's not fair if it allows you to wipe squad without counter because it's out of detection.

We could make the ability not be able to target squad leaders.

If that is done though some nerfs done to the ability should be rolled back.

Wouldn't that affect the LA's ability to wipe squads in retreat? Or could it be made so they could be targeted if they're the last model? I think it'd be fine if that's the case.

Also keep in mind that if Hook's range is nerfed it would likely be effectively even lower in practice because the ability tends to bug out when used at max range.

I like the idea of making it a stun/knockback ability rather than pulling stuff in. Or just making it not pull in squad leaders but applying damage.

There are honestly quite of few things that are more annoying. If we are talking about pure cancer stealth strats not a damn thing is going to touch a chaos sorc who is on his game . The old chestnut of 2 heretics csm into havocs to camp a power node thing.

give me anything lictor related over that any day of the week
