Anyone here playing DoW on a 144hz monitor? I might be getting one soon and was wondering how it looks/feels.

I use one but the game's performance chugs so much that you don't reach more than 100FPS anyway because of Relic's shit optimization

I am. FPS dips to 40-50 during large team fights and will permanently stay around there in team games. Helps in 1v1 though. You'll notice the most difference with your 144 hz monitor in first person games. Just looking around in Skyrim is a huge difference in how smooth things are.

Depends a bit on what hardware you have in your rig.
For DoW you most likely won't gain much (unless you are rocking 980ti/1070/1080/titan and 7700K or something.) but as mentioned, other games should benefit you a bit more.

It really surprises me that DoW is poorly optimized, then again I guess I've only ever run everything at 30 FPS haha
Re: Anyone using a 144hz monitor?
DoW II isn't so much badly-optimised as it's CPU-bound. We hadn't hit the age of excessive VRAM on GPUs back in the late 2000s (and architectures were similarly-lacking by comparison to the mid 2010s), so the amount of heavy lifting that could be done by even the top-end GPU cards was limited. Heck, back then I still had an 8800GTS 320MB (new in 2007, for me) and it took me some time to get a secondhand 250GT (1GB).
vDoW has similar restrictions but given the age of the game, you really have to hammer some really heavy SCaR scripts in to start affecting performance too much (and yet, some mod teams still manage this).
Will be interesting to see how DoW III measures up.
