Building Lag

Right Guys, I know my laptop isnt the worlds fastest gaming pc but I have always been able to run DoW fine. Recently (post 2.4) I have found lag building as the game goes on. I recall reading that the bodies were being left in the battle and was wondering if this was what was causing it to lag. I have settings all on low but Im getting to a point where its unplayable. Any ideas or suggestions?
