Thought that might happen. I got screenshots if anyone is interested. The price of the base game is listed very high in GBP at £55; I don't think I've ever seen a PC game priced that high - result of Brexit perhaps?

Can't wait to see what is in the Collector's Edition. The Space Marine one was pretty great.

Mass Effect Andromedia starts at £50, as did Civilisation VI. Not surprised by the price point, especially in GBP. Given the state of the global market, we're finally seeing prices of luxury products rise more in line with the general curve. Basic stuff like food has been increasing for some time (petrol through oil, too).

Mass Effect costs 40 £ and DoW 3 costs 38 £ over at Amazon.co.uk.

Prime-only. Origin Code is £50, Xbox One and PS4 versions are £46. Xbox One Download Code is a whopping £59.99. I wish I knew why.

I'm going on the standard prices through the main storefronts. That's Steam for Civ VI and Origin for ME:A. A lot of other games go for £40 through Steam, too, these days. Dark Souls III, Warhammer: Total War, CoD: Infinite Warfare, etc.

Yes many games have been £50, the point was I've not seen a game break that barrier. Didn't think it would be DoW3.

I expect there will be a large backlash about this on Steam forums unless it was not final price.

Eh, but why are you going on the standard prices of the main storefronts? If you can get it cheaper somewhere else you should do that. And correct me if I am wrong, but prime only means that you get it faster and maybe 2 £ cheaper?

Because that's what the market value of the product is. Games are trending upwards because of the investment cost required to make them vs. the proposed sales of the product to recoup that investment. It's a business decision, always has been. So if the prices are <X>, or <Y>, then there are market reasons for that that may extend beyond "let's intentionally charge a ridiculous price".

I echo Indrid's concerns here; I think there will be a backlash. Amongst the CivFanatics I know, the British of us weren't too amazed at the launch price for that title either. It's on Relic and SEGA to expect that, and manage it accordingly.

So, no bonus race for pre-order? Guess that means no necrons ... yet

Steam store page shows the game has already won some awards like Game Debate PC Best Game 2016.

If Indrids pricing reference is correct, I would agree with Gorb that there will be huge repercussions. Considering the MOBAesque nature of the game people might find themselves asking why they should pay that much money for a MOBA when there are other games out there costing way less (even nothing). Before you go on clobbering me, think about it: the game is obvisouly trying to attract the MOBA scene, there can be no doubt about it. Why would you make the price so prohibitive for "newcomers" from said community? If only they would have stayed their RTS course and simply improved on what DoW2 and DoW1 already are.

Least the date is some what in the next few months! I'm so excited! Many players making the transition?

I don't buy skins so the pre-order offer doesn't have much in it for me. Maybe if there had been guaranteed access to beta.

They didn't reveal what's in the limited edition and collector edition, maybe there is an access to beta, who knows.

Guru, there's probably going to be an open beta after the fixes have been made from the closed. Don't worry about it.

The new model for Farseer Taldeer looks badass. Looked even better when they had it up on Sketchfab and you could see the whole thing.

Yeah yeah, I know there will probably be an open beta.
But I tend to become a little bit stupid with games I desperatly want to play like DOW3. Stupid enough to buy a limited edition or so if it guarantees an early access.
Actually, I never did this, but I know I will with DOW3 if they chose to do so.

No access to closed beta with preorders.
Open beta and/or demo confirmed.

I kinda just want the hammer and banners for the game room
