DOW III - Orks and Space Marine Multiplayer Gameplay
20 minute, 1v1 multiplayer match uploaded by Gamespot. I assume this is new footage and hasn't been seen here before. Apologies if it has been seen.

Re: DOW III - Orks and Space Marine Multiplayer Gameplay
wow they got taken down fast
Re: DOW III - Orks and Space Marine Multiplayer Gameplay
Shit, didn't even get to get a glimpse at it.
Re: DOW III - Orks and Space Marine Multiplayer Gameplay
It really did look like a great mix of DoW2 style capture point play, MOBA lane focus and free-form base building.
The SM v Eldar map reminded me of Judgment of Carrion - with three "lanes" to fight push-pull in. The middle has resources, pushing further gets you to the enemy generators, and once you get enough momentum you push into their base and kill the power core. Very MOBA feeling there, but then on top you've got full control of all production facilities, workers and units as well as commanders. It looks like a lot of the fun take and hold and back and forth that DoW2 does for me, and less of the SC2 sit in your base, max out, then go win. Territory looks to matter a lot, which is something I enjoy. I feel like there will be a lot of variations on flanking, splitting, sustained push, take and hold etc. Definitely can support different factions / playstyles.
The maps looked super clean too, so many DoW2 maps have some abysmal pathing locations and unintuative terrain physics.
While I still bemoan the removal of squad preservation and the addition of free-form base building / managing, this looks like a genuinely fun and unique hybrid game. Red's Dropzone comes to mind. A fusion of various elements from RTS and RTS adjacent genres into a familiar yet unique experience.
I'm 100% psyched.

Re: DOW III - Orks and Space Marine Multiplayer Gameplay
I say one thing if gameplay will be like this game wont last for 1 or 2 moths before people get bored of this let alone how shit its look I don't see good or decent rts players will have much fun amoving blobs around

Don't judge til you tried it.
The internal battery has run dry, the game can now be played. However, clock based events will no longer occur.

It shows your level if you think blobbing will be prevalent.

Well, don't blame the people who didn't manage to be selected in the beta.
We are only seeing bad gameplay...
Relic should cast a high level game asap, to show that the game can be something else than blob A vs blob B.
There IS potential, just show it.

NDA Guru unfortunately you know everyone would love to show you some gameplay. But trust me when i say that if you blob prepare to be punished hard. Also DoW3 is more demanding in skill wise.

Holy crap those players were bad. The guy didn't even know how to set units to groups. The game looks much better with people who know what they're doing. The amount of people who know what they're doing is currently 0 so far. Some are getting there faster than others though.

Most are, me and toilalee havent lost a single game i think, there was one guy in a 1v1 who gave a challenge but not much. Most people tend to blob, not dodge or macro at all. It pretty much comes to you facerolling their squads and then take control of the whole map making forward bases and building more production buildings, while they have 1 building producing units.

Do I hear the guy who voice acted Tarkus in that video?

Winning all your games in a beta isn't saying much. I won the majority of my games and had a permanently bugged UI where I didn't even have a working minimap

Fuck, everyone was in the beta but me it seems.

Re: DOW III - Orks and Space Marine Multiplayer Gameplay
What happens when you blob as 'crons?
Re: DOW III - Orks and Space Marine Multiplayer Gameplay
Art direction aside, seems like a solid RTS. Lack of co-op disappoints me. I hope there will be modding though.

Me either. Should have lied and said I had four cores.

Re: DOW III - Orks and Space Marine Multiplayer Gameplay
I said four.
But I said I had 0 experience with MOBAs, and that I used to watch videos on the web to improve.
Why I'm so stupid.
Actually we don't know, maybe the selection really was random.

EDIT: I also said 4 core and no experience with MOBAs so idk :/
Yeah, I don't really know exactly what the line of NDA is now, but my impressions of the game has been a net positive. It has some flaws, but they are fixable flaws that you don't need to remake the game from the ground up to address.
DoWIII's core is a lot more solid than DoWII's is imo, and I think the gap between a bad player and a good player is going to be distinctly noticeable by how many squads they can keep alive. One of the aspects of the game that really shines is how punishing it is to blobbing, and the discouragement of sim-city in the back. Keeping you army alive is pretty vital to winning games, or at least it was in beta.

What do you mean by that ? if you can/want to answer of course.
On the videos we are seeing, it seems there are buildings everywhere, but maybe it's an impression, because the building icons on mini map are pretty big.
Re: DOW III - Orks and Space Marine Multiplayer Gameplay
Having watched a few of the videos (not cool enough to be in the beta) I like the look of the gameplay. Not sure I like the serial objectives as it causes an attack, pull back, wait and recruit, wait, wait, attack again dynamic. Slows the end of the game but this may be a good thing.
I don't like the appearance of the line units and I don't like their running and shooting animations. The squads are too synchronised and their gait just looks wrong.
However, I am here for the gameplay. Haven't quite locked in my pre order but will do. I will wait on sales for any dlc though.
