MRT 29 on April 25th @18:00 UTC
MRT 29 on April 25th @18:00 UTC
I would like to bring MRTs back from here on like back in the days, the planned schedule is gonna be 3 of those followed by a League or Championship over multiple days. The Rules are staying the same like back in the day with just a few more maps added and 1-2 disliked like outer reaches removed.
Date: Monthly Rumble Tournament #29 will be on Saturday, April 25th.
Time:18:00 UTC (viewtopic.php?f=14&t=2115 for help to convert the timezone)
Patch: 2.9.4
Brackets: https://challonge.com/imygfd0f
Rules
Host Settings
Format: 1v1
Victory Point Control: 500 VPs
Starting Location: Random
Resources: Standard
Rounds are Best of 3 all the way until the Finals. The Finals is a Best of 5 round.
Tournament is single elimination, so losing one match drops you out of the tournament.
Map Picks
1. Maps are always selected before hero picks.
2. The first game of a match will always be a fixed map as shown just below the Round display in the tournament bracket. After this, the map pick will be the loser's choice.
3. The map pool is found below the rules.
4. Only maps in the map pool may be played to be considered a valid tournament game. Failing to do so results in an automatic veto and regame.
5. No map can be played more than once within a match. Maps that are variants of other maps, such as Pale Tooth Gorge and Green Tooth Gorge, will count as one map and can't be selected in the same match.
6. Each player will have the option to veto a single map during a match, excluding the first game map predecided by the tournament organizer.
(The ban lasts for the whole series)
Hero Picks
1. Players can select either Random or 3 heroes prior to the tournament, which can be seen on the tournament registration and information thread.
2. Once selected, the player will only be able to pick among those 3 heroes or Random for the duration of the tournament depending on their selection.
3. A coin flip (in the main discord use !flip to flip a coin) decides who gets to lock in the hero first(Heads Top Bracket player//Tails Bottom Bracket Player), the player who picked the hero second has to pick it first in game 2 and it alternates throughout the match.
4. To check out who is on the top and bottom of your match cell, just look at the Brackets page, linked above.

Coin Flip feature for the first hero pick implemented on the discord when?
Otherwise being seeded in the top of the bracket is a giant disadvantage.
Also how will seeding be done? 100% randomised, or based on ESL elo or something else?
There are no hero vetoes in this tournament? And the map veto persists for the entire player vs player match-up, not just one game? so if I veto calderis in G1, my foe cannot pick it in G2?

I think the whole "top bracket picks first" will need to be reworked into something else. I am not sure what though.

Just regroup players by ESL rating or something, then seed them, then alphabetic order for first pick.
