a big sugestion/Answer

Postby sk4zi » Mon 24 Jun, 2013 12:56 pm

1 thing ...

in general i like the new patchnotes very much but there is one thing:

could you plz reduce the resolution of the starting screen? or better: make it affected by the costumer grafic settings?

every time im looking for games or even if im in the post match screen my computer is really fighting hard with that maximum settings ... im allways thinking, i will get bluescreen very soon, whitch i got allready because of overheating grafics adapter.

That's odd, for me it is adapted to my settings. You are talking about the background with the Warboss right?

yes i am.

its even worse since its this and no more retail Inquisitor...

also its better in the army painter which is still the old background. (but not good actually)

but really odd if you dont have that issue (or settings)

my coolers are allways running at maximum (very noisy) when im at that screen.
if im too long there (eg. because of seeking games or w8ting for 1 appearing) i need to alt+tab to retreat from there ;)
or ofc join a match

It runs at the same resolution and I'd assume the same general video settings. The issue might be just that your PC is running it at comparatively huge framerate which makes your video card go nuts. I think that was an issue with Starcraft 2 and Blizzard had to patch it. Might have been another game...

Try forcing on v-sync in your video card drivers.

Are you saying that start screen is the only thing that makes your GPU cooling go crazy? It doesn't go crazy when you are in game which is much graphically intensive. Can you hear if the cooling noise drop off when you are in game?

I know this phenomenon. The backdropped menu screens (even public list) make my video card fan go crazy, idk why. Can't see what we could do about it, though.

Maybe don't touch things which do not need change? It's not a big deal if the mainscreen or music remains the same even for the next 10 years, i spend 99% of the time in the public games section anyway.

Menu uses 100 % graphic card because game engine isnt optimized for close looking at some effects like explosions and fire , the only solution is to make menu static but can elite do this , do players even allow for such a thing? Maybe on/off button?

that seems to be true ...

i assume it has something to do with that smoke comming up slowly in the starting screen.

is it possible to just remove that?

activating vsync helped, but if i stay too long in that screen it still fu*ks my grafics card.

this is actually a problem because of the after game screen which is the same in background.
there you have sometime to w8 a very long time for all the players being ready.

A silly question but are your GPU drivers up to date?

I use 6850 gigabyte windforce and zero problem with overheating , max is 60 C and no sound , so propably just open the case clean it a bit with compressed air and that should do the trick ;p

as a side note never use steam for your video card drivers, they suck with them and often get them mixed up and such.

i recommend going to this page and using the "AMD Catalyst Application Profiles" program, it's from AMD and automatically detects if your drivers are up to date or not.

sorry for not keeping you in track guys ;)

the solution was to open the craphics card an remove all the dust inside whitch turned into a pad of whool like stuff blocking all the air circulation

its smooth again :D

I simply dusted my ventilation areas on the side of my laptop yesterday and suddenly I'm running DOW 10C cooler.
