Postby Daniel » Wed 30 Jul, 2014 10:24 am

My gtx470 after 2 min. game crash on desktop. Sometime back in the game after 5/6 second and sometime not and give to me the crash report...

I have opened the cpu, cleaned inside the coler, all is fine.
I have reinstalled windows7
I have tested the temprature of cpu and other stuff and all is lower than 50°/60°
Seems all ok but continue crash
Intel Core i5
8 giga ddr3
Windows7 64bit

I have played dow2 for 5 years and i never had problems.. never

Any advice?

Is there an error code that shows up when this happens? Or at least some sort of debug message?

What are the symptoms? Something like once the game crashes, does steam try to reload the game?

As a check could you install .NET4.5 and C++ 2010 redistributable package (relevant to your operating system).

As a troubleshooting 101, always give installing the video drivers from Nvidia directly rather than through a client if you're using one.

When you go to install them, Nvidia now have a clean up tool that runs before the install so I do recommend do that.

Give these suggestions a try and see how you go.

My suspicion is that it's simply an old driver that you're using or many of them are outdated since you mentioned that you reinstalled windows. I know for sure unless you've updated the chipset and a few others that you'll more than likely run into issues. Windows update has a hard time finding everything perfectly, it does for the most part but there will always be one driver that isn't accounted for.

I have installed the software, one was on my cpu other not.

I have played 1 game 23 min whithout crash and then crushed on desktop again.

Nvidia was trying to change resolution i think.

Any other advice?

try playing in windowed mode (or just leaving the game open against the easy computer). if it's really related to resolution changes you could have GPU issues. the PSU is also possible though; i had a bad PSU that was causing problems with my GPU and looked like a bad GPU.

So you're really only having problems with Elite, other games work fine?
