So, I just downloaded the mod, just played it a tiny bit. Out of all the factions, IG appeals to me the most. My preferred hero is LC, and my opening goes something like (from watching Indrid): Sentinel, Guardsmen, sergeant upgrade, stomp, sergeant upgrade.
Some questions I would like to ask, if I may:
What is the difference between the spotter team, catachans and the heavy weapons squad? (i.e. when to use which one)
How do you deal with ork melee mobs? (or is it mobz?)
What is a good load-out for the LC (endgame) (and if you guys have load-outs for the other heroes, much appreciated)
Is there any general guide I can use for IG around here?
Kasrkin vs scions... which one when?
And ofc, any other advice is welcome. Thank you.

Two of the best LC plays i've seen
catachans in action. in my opinion it's one of the best IG units ever. they don't have fire on the move (fotm) ability
DarkHero
https://dawnofwar.info/esl/match/42293867 - combo for LC wargear/catachans
and Sphenomz
https://dawnofwar.info/esl/match/42414889 - catachans save chimera from predator (sic!)
and kins' grenades are wicked sick for melee.

First of all, welcome.
Spotters are for dealing with set up teams, or big ranged blobs. You can disrupt them from a good range, or just reduce their weapons range with the smoke shell. Great unit. They don't do a lot of damage by them selfs, but their abilites are what you pay for. Heavy weapons team is for suppressing enemy infantry, really useful to control big fat heroes or enemy melee hordes. They also can get sweet weapon upgrades in T2 to deal with vehicles. Catachans are more like an anti-melee squad, but they have a lot more abilities addition to anti-melee. Usually a very all rounder squad and easy to manage. Just check their abilities in the codex, you will get what I mean.
Late game hero load-outs is not how DoW II works, at least you shouldn't focus on that. An upgrade you purchased in T1 can still be very effective in T3. You usually have some kind of synergy with your army for the whole game, and LC can do this very well in all of the tiers. Don't overthink about T3.
For some combos : Aura of Discipline has great synergy with Ogryns. The less models you have around LC, the more it heals per model on percentage base.
Bionic Eye does wonders when you combine it with Catachans, specially in a 1v1 match. Just shoot one of their heads, and then force melee combat with the speed bonus to tear apart a Devestator squad. Did I mention the suppression immunity?
Stubborness is amazing. It heals you on pulses as you have more models around the LC. And IG tends to have lots of models, this wargear makes your LC a very good tank. Stubborness also works great with Fist of Brockus, since to end the effect, they have to kill your LC, but he just doesn't.
