Diverse gameplay, and dynamic gameplay, are both features of a well designed game. I never said it wasn't, and I'm certainly not against adding more diversity to the game - the irony being your suggestion makes SM play less diverse by shoehorning two units into one. Well, my initial idea was to change the WW as little as possible, but make it more accessible (while also allowing the RB better T3 scaling).
