Re: SM vs Eldar/IG:
if I may add, from a mid-level mainly eldar perspective, for what's worth (no, really, don't listen to me): If you lose the first engagement, well avoid the first engagement 8-) just use the eldar way against them, slowly kite them into your base. They have very poor gen bashing capacity in tier 1, ...

Re: Would you be interested in a competitive 3v3 tournament? Let's talk about it.
I've never managed to organize my time for a tournament yet I really support the idea, hoping to participate some day. Fixed teams would be something new, though harder to organize. It's always been a paradox that the "legitimate" mode is 1v1 but the massively played one is casual 3v3, so ...

Re: Heavy armor for Warp Spiders (and generally fluff/lore discussion)
well I exaggerated ^^ let's say that, unless combined with WS, fire dragons are a very risky counter to tanks (looted, preds, non vanquisher lemons) that deal aoe explosive... in my mid-level experience at least. I gave up using them against anything else than melee walkers.

Re: Heavy armor for Warp Spiders (and generally fluff/lore discussion)
anyway heavy armor is quite a poisoned gift past T1, or a way to balance large HP pools that would be op without it
(to the point most tanks are decent hard counters to fire dragons)

Didn't realise that was even a thing. How much does it mitigate it by? https://dawnofwar.info/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=243&hilit=moving+melee+skill&start=60#p7362 They lose 2 MS while moving, which is a 2% increase in special chance, thus granting otherwise equal melee superiority unit...

Re: 2.8 Non-Consensus Thread (Part 2 of 2)
These discussions can be discouraging for the humble average Eldar player. You crawl your way into a very taxing faction, you subjectively feel you have to put so much more effort to achieve some results, and then you realize it was all a lie, that some people in the inner circle think Eldar are au...

Hey, I'm new here, and I have a couple of questions. 1. Do the community is still active? I see that there are tournaments every once in a while, and elite mod is being updated, but most groups (f.e. the "Nubclub" one on steam) are very much inactive. 2. The DLC's well do i need them in t...

Re: Why do Pdevs missiles have tracking?
Incorrect. It shoots directly at the spot where the target is at the moment of the plasma ball being released from the chamber. An arc was added so that it doesn't hit terrain as often. The only things that cause the plasma ball to hit unexpected places are: 1) user targeting (attack ground command...

Re: Why do Pdevs missiles have tracking?
I think targeting ground is not needed (and probably isn't used) when the target moves towards the P-dev, as the ball seems to explode on contact with the target, as opposed to D-cannons or WG. I've never seen it miss by flying above (cheap opportunistic eldar-biased rant: that's why P-devs are good...

Re: 2.8 Non-Consensus Thread (Part 2 of 2)
^ it has, very true. But I still contest that that is because of the way the maps are designed in 3v3 that are most commonly played. Not because 3v3 innately makes melee bad. Sure if there is a huge narrow firing line of 2/3 players running melee into it is very dumb and ranged will work much bette...

Re: Homogenizing buffs to abilities
Well psychic storm does power melee damage. It's one of the problems of having a lot of damage types. Sure it is hard to remember but then it adds a lot of combat variety if not depth. Can't really go and change all that now though. That's changing game fundamentals. It would force players who have...

Re: Homogenizing buffs to abilities
For The Emperor Increases the damage output of a squad by 25% for 20 seconds. Cooldown 50 seconds Why would it not work on Smite? You put it on the Librarian and it does more damage like it says it does. I don't know if there are things in other races that don't work. I just play FC nowadays and I ...

Homogenizing buffs to abilities
So, something I might have asked already... what would you guys think about homogenizing how buffs affect damage abilities ? At the moment it seems you have to learn how every single buffs affects or not a damage ability. For example, execution from Lord Commissar affects most damage abilities while...

Re: dealing with warp spiders in eldar mirror
thanks all, will save a replay next time. Maybe the greatest challenge is to change cap habits, I tend to confidently spread my squads to recap my part of the map, I guess I have to stay more grouped or knowingly bait the harass. Rangers can be good also for scouting purposes so I can guess which ca...

dealing with warp spiders in eldar mirror
ok so I'm really not playing often enough for any advice to be profitable but... I find some of the matches where I most horribly struggle is in eldar mirrors, when facing a WSE with 2xWS. I main the other two usually, besides I realize I don't play a lot with WS myself (I know they're often a stapl...

oh well I might as well rant again :) I don't play WSE (yet) but is phase shift still over-performing in the current state, with the 5 secs 40% damage reduction and 100 damage eldritch? Or is the range reduction conditioned to bringing back the center bolts of Eldritch Storm to 200 damage, in the ot...

Re: Eldar late game in 3v3: faster vehicles
As I see it, the rework discussion would be from an immersion, design perspective. Not a change warranted because of balance. I'd say it's a move from one balanced state to a different balanced state. All units in OM roster, and most others I suppose, were created around the fluff and what the modd...

Re: Eldar late game in 3v3: faster vehicles
Yeah, let's just roll with the assumption that we would do a rework of Eldar vehicles here. You just can't buff other aspects of a Fire Prism without modifying the range. A Prism's effectiveness is so binary specifically because it is so specialized. It either stays out of range for the entire matc...
