The problem with all of this is that any upgrade that adds a trait or two to give them better melee performance only accentuates the problem of them being too generalist, as all their other upgrades are ranged oriented, but an exclusive sidegrade like MoK wouldnt work because purifiers already fill...

For the hp, they end up with roughly 100 less hp at max level, so either you did that intentionally or your math is wrong. Personally I'd rather have that extra RNG in the game. The vehicle isn't getting straight up destroyed, the killing blow messed something up and made the vehicle enter its final drive to destruction.
