Strategy Guides for the Elite mod
Hello guys. As some of you might know I'm a writer for dow2 and the elite mod on GameReplays. Here you can find links to most of my Strategy Guides. These days, I'm mostly writing about the units that are unique to the elite mod. First came Sternguard Veterans then the Painboy. If you have a particu...

Re: Plague Champion Wargear suggestion (Ranged build)
The DOT it's fine IMHO. ... Well it heavily depends on many factors: burst duration, cooldown, reload time and reload frequency. TM's plasma gun has no burst duration and shoots once every 2s. But bolters do have a burst duration, for instance PC's is 2 seconds, during which every successful hit tr...

Re: Wish Lists (for beyond 2.1)
You cannot give it the Heal over time, it will just be straight better than any armor. Let it cast a spell that heals an allied unit for 10hp every time they are hit in melee, 6s duration.

Re: Plague Champion Wargear suggestion (Ranged build)
⋅ 1. The DOT damage type is affected by the armor, as any other direct damage? Yes. ⋅ 2. In the same way, the DOT is affected by the retreat ranged reduction? In the other DOTs the damage have no type IIRC, but plasma is a ranged one, so maybe it could affected by the retreat ...

We could let them do higher damage when they catch up a model, but the nuke is strong enough atm.

Subjugation is useful in every match-up. At worse it is just as useful as Sigil of the Rift. Also Empyreal Abyss is not underperforming. Seriously? If one nuke is underperforming it is Tyranids's.

Re: Ork Topic
Apparently you are unaware of what MB and Orkz can do in general. Do you know that the MB can teleport? Have you ever heard about Weirdboy's Over Dere ? The 5s delay is not an issue, it is what prevents the wargear from being OP. And MB has several ways to deal with it. Second, the ability stuns veh...

True CS players will first sigil away the targeted unit, then subjugate it, leaving the CS out of reach =)

Re: Bugs/Issues Thread
Yes it had friendly fire on specials. Just weapon knockback, though. Fixed it. Sweet. This might have been mentioned but there's a nasty glitch with sternguard getting stuck in ammo changing state. The trigger seems to be when the sarge is killed during the ammo switch. Once locked in this state (s...

As Caeltos said, it decreases brightlance damage by 75%. And yes the 20% damage increase modifier is applied only to the entity actually hit.

Re: Wish Lists (for beyond 2.1)
MCB only gives TM a +2.92 DPS. It is mostly the ability that makes it worthy. We could think about an ability for a Nurgle bolter. To increase PC ranged damage sounds risky as far as OPness is concerned, especially combined with his other anti-melee wargears and Nurgle worship. I'll be ok with a low...

Re: Pre-Balance preview
The idea behind subjugation is also to cloack the CS while he is using the ability, with worship. Also level 1 DA can definitively wipe themselve with a grenade, when there is no warlock. Scouts cannot, I believe even if you manage to get every model next to the nade (what is prevented by the squad ...

Re: Eldar Topic
100% Yeah sure double damage, must be the best ability of the game right? It increases damage by 20%. As the brightlance has begun an upgrade for shuriken cannon, ie not an only-req purchase anymore, it needs something more to compete with AV set-up teams that do snare. This ability is legitimate a...

Kolaris was keeping the data up to date but he's off the game now. If you want to volonteer for helping in this matter you should pm caeltos or lulgrim. I don't think somebody is actually dedicated to this job atm.

Re: Bugs/Issues Thread
It just came back to my mind that WS exarch's (I'm not talking about WSE) special attacks still KB allied units. They are quite rare so perhaps they have been fixed already, but I don't think so. Perhaps they even KB in retreat, I believe it needs checking.

Re: Ork Topic
You wanted to change the basic attack, which is indeed very good but not as high of a concern as warp vomit that is an engagement winner in most cases.
So we'd rather see a nerf to warp vomit than a nerf to his basic attack.

Yeah the Derp Vomit is pretty darn good since you can't practically dodge it and it lasts for ages. Do units still take extra dmg while stunned by the vomit? Units do take 20% more damage. And Warpath is just one of the best upgrade of the game, if the weirdboy has no ranged attack at all it would ...

Need to get in position as for a grenade ? Lol. HotW is just as good as inspire terror as far as retreat kill are concerned and requires much less skill than a grenade throw. It does 100 damage and good players will save it for when it is deadly just as flesh hook. The range is indeed short so I'd ...

If you're against a hero that can build turret you must deny him the possibility to set one up. If he's able to do so then he certainly outplayed you. Turrets are a heavy investment in Tier 1, especially TM and PC's since they cannot destroy them to get a refund. They are meant to be decisive whatev...

Re: About retreat killing.
I do think every one of these abilities should do reduced damage on retreat. It is indeed unfair that they do full damage and it becomes absurd when you consider that TM's HPS and WL's destructor (for instance) do not. They do not for a very good reason: it would make them OP. I'm very ok with those...

Re: Control lost of walkers bug
It has happened to our mighty Wraithlords indeed. How unnatural is it that souls imprisoned within the spirit stones thirst for blood. Something must be tricking them. Oh. Now I see it. This is no fate but an artifice from the Great Enemy. The mark of the Neth of Pleasure is pervading the warp. The ...
