Re: the Chaos is OP myth

I consciously believe chaos is not OP. However, there are things which have made me think hmmm is this in combination with other things just too cheap? Just made me curious though not enough to make me think they are OP. Havoc insta suppress, Tcsm dps, sorc worship abuse (making GuO infiltrate? hmmm...

Incendiary and Explosive shells share a cooldown so really the two of them should only count as one way

Re: Grenade Launchers for Imperial Guardsmen/Storm Troopers?

On that walker note: Sometimes I find the Ogryns in lieu of a walker to be an advantage. The SHI armour acts -similarly- against piercing and the melee/disruption/chase capabilities and mobility of ogryns can be indispensable. Though they bleed, they can escape much more reliably whereas misplacing ...

Re: Beginner's Tourney #5 (redux) registration

I have had that on more occasions than I would care to admit. But usually not while observing :P And yeh I think its just in 1v1 your brain is using up so much more of its cognitive resources because it is 1 more micro intensive, 2 you have to consider a larger area at all times and 3 there are more...

Re: Beginner's Tourney #5 (redux) registration

What is the quantitative guideline in terms of hours? I would happily enter if not deemed too experienced. I am yet to participate in a tournament of any kind.

edit: soz I was lazy and didn't read properly, saw 500 hours now. Is that a max cut off or a round-abouts reference?

Re: Slaughter is way overperforming

I really think it should just give them chainswords for a duration and increase melee damage and skill. Doesn't have to be fancy. So you can fight off units that come close and who think will be winning the fight until you do, or do some suprise damage when forcing melee with tacs or something. Acti...

Re: Banewolf fixing?

100% with torpid's position on this one. Going into tier 2, I need to be constrained as to which route I want to follow: Do I get the chimera and, well, let it do what the chimera does... OR do I rush out that hellhound, attempt a bash, harass his infantry. The upgrade would facilitate both which is...

Re: Slaughter is way overperforming

ATSKNF (love typing that) is defensive, requires damage to charge, slows speed, increases defense. I'd like if slaughter like increased speed and damage (but to a way lesser extent than it does now *cough 35dps cough*), but maybe increased damage taken? I can imagine CSM leaving their cover for a cr...

Anyway to make the gear swap cheaper as with the re purchase of the LG's retinue? IE swapping back to plasma from a ML could be half price?

Slaughter is way overperforming

I'm not a little whiner (I don't think). I really hate posting in the balance section and feel I do too frequently. But Slaughter is killing me. It is slaughtering me. Last night I had interceptors with justicar and mind blades losing in melee to slaughter csm, and they even specialed my ints. I am ...

I see where you're coming from on everything... But I think he's pretty well balanced atm and fills his role quite well. The only thing I can see possibly deserving a tweak is, perhaps, the melta upgrades AV damage might get a little more dps. But meh

Re: Change Tome of Subjugation

I would think subjugation would make more sense were it only to make the unit start attacking its allies, rather than giving actually control over it. It could last longer and the unit could be damaged then.

Just my two pence

Re: Catachan nerf, who to use for frontlines?

Yeah I think your error is using them as frontline. If you think about it, GM are like the most quintessential 'front line' unit in 40k... Wear the enemy down against their cheap numbers, use them to draw fire etc. Sent can tank while being repaired by them too. Catas are more of a counter initiatio...

Re: Banewolf fixing?

Thanks for bringing up an important part of the OP Cyris. I think the Hellhound as tier 2 unit and banewolf upgrade is a perfect fix. The banewolf has a huge role in the IG roster for inq which is missing for the other two. I'm no good with proposing numbers, but if I had to suggest for the Hellhoun...

Banewolf fixing?

Can't believe I'm doing this to my beloved IG but BW is a little OP, as I'm sure all agree I suggest making the HELLHOUND a tier 2 unit (no more inq only drop in), but then have the Banewolf gear upgrade for the snare effect. That way, Ig will be more internally balanced as such a powerful unit will...

Re: Sniper changes (good and bad)

Is that bad? It would mean you would have to draw fire to allow your snipers to get their shot off. And, if infiltrated, it would just mean you'd have to wait a bit instead of run in, set up, thank you for that model or two, see ya (assuming no detectors). It would also prevent kiting because every ...
