Re: Are 1v1 games balanced?

Nope, it's not. Balance builds on 3vs3 games. 1vs1 for noobs 8-) Totally agreed, 3v3s, especially faction wars is and always has been the benchmark for balance in the game. 1v1 just involves two dudes slugging it out against each other, occasionally with other dudes watching, how boring is that? Th...

Re: 2.4.2 Hotfix - No notes , but details included

I appreciate the ambition of this patch to shake up the stale meta in the game - GK will always be a work in progress for the foreseeable future and you may have ambitions to revamp a faction like the one given to Eldar. However, I also realise that the developers just don't have the manpower of a f...

And Riku the rules are free anyway, you just have to look hard enough on dodgy sites. By that logic, everything is free -.- Stealing is not ok. ;) I of course have no experience with acquiring GW's property through the internet illegally. Never. Re: 2.4 Balance Feedback

Because you should be building zoanthropes in like every game, they are that good. One more quick comment on GK: Even with the swap of purgs and inties for ops, I still run at least 2 IST and usually even 3. The "common" build order I ran during the vods was: Start IST - Strike - IST - IS...

If the utility/frequency of teleport/retreat is being looked at, one small solution could be that both abilities start on cooldown like slaughter.

Re: 2.4 Balance Feedback

FTE at 50 is serious business, especially considering the fact that standard got buffed too. People just need to wake up to the serious dev combos (vengeance, lascannon and plasma) which this can generate. Further reductions on GM upkeep have made them borderline impossible to bleed, being swarmier ...

Re: 2.4 Balance Feedback

Hellstar makes a good point, the burden of proof is on the accuser, not the accused. If someone claims X unit is op, then it's that person's prerogative to prove his claims. That having said, I do want to ask what Hellstar's standard of proof is. As Vapor already said, often the best standard of pro...

Re: 2.4 Balance Feedback

First of all, I'd like to say that I do love the new direction GK is going. Shifting play into the hit and run, inquisitorial T1 style has breathed new life to a game saturated with generic dudes in power armour. However, I do have a few concerns regarding operatives and the GK T1 in general: T1 bui...

New game modes?

I know this would have been discussed a number of times in the past, but is there a possibility of adding new ways to play the game? I'm asking because the current meta - 500 VPs, normal starting resources is the only playable and acceptable option. This has the unfortunate side effect of making the...

Re: I'm running double Operatives

How do you do double IST and not get forced off too early? Feel like 2x IST makes gk too squishy. They're a unit that needs a lot of babysitting. And how does that work out in late game? Barring strikes and the BC, GK in general is pretty squishy in T1, so players just need to stop playing them lik...

Re: 2.4 Balance Feedback

Suppression has long been a key factor in T1 play across all races, so it's natural to want purgs back in T1. However, I do feel like good rhino and ops play is what will make the lynchpin of T1 as GK has shifted a lot from the big burly dudes in power armour in T1 into a game of maneuvring and gori...

Re: I'm running double Operatives

I think double IST is still the go to build in 1v1, since they're so dominant in the early game and you really need the extra bodies on the ground to contest map control. An IST squad (preferably unupgraded) is still the better back capper in later stages of the game, since your ops is better served...

Re: 2.4 Balance Feedback

Even without satchel charges wiping gens, ops are still very good gen bashers since they pop in out of nowhere and do their buttloads of damage in T1. Few units are fast enough to catch up with them, so you'll always need to keep one eye open on your gen lane. I haven't been this paranoid since melt...

Surely rending talons/psychic scream HT or crippling talon/reinforced chitin/burrow trap RA would do decently at controlling the nobs though? Even if you factor in over dere the DOM seems built to counter nobs, doubly so if spirit leech roots targets in the next patch.

That awkward moment when you realise the most fluff accurate representation of the game isn't the cornerstone of how the game is, or should be balanced around.
