Re: Chaos Space Marine Topic
Okay, so let's look at it this way: In the Chaos metagame it is really uncommon to get more than 2 vehicles, taking into account CSM upkeep etc. Do note that Crusher can be repaired as well as worshipped, but we'll say that it's more efficient to worship him due to the energy increase. I agree you s...

Re: Chaos Space Marine Topic
I'm not going to comment on the lascannon upgrade because I don't have an opinion on that yet, I'm still thinking and want to consider the bigger picture. The reasoning of "why would anyone use tics for repair when they have an AOE repair?" is almost the same as asking, "why would any...

Re: Chaos Space Marine Topic
Why? Why would anyone use tics for repair when they have an AOE repair?... Right now it's easy to victimise repairing tics sitting behind vehicles. I am not against giving PC worship something extra, (although I don't think it's necessary), I don't think a repair rate from worship would be a good id...

Re: Imperial Guard Topic
it's the same as losing a dread to a missile tac, just slightly easier for the IG player because sents are faster. Is it really that similar? A tac missile can be meleed and a dread does favourably against a tac missile. You can just force melee if it's a melee dread and you will get a melee charge...

Re: Tyranid Topic
Well I've played enough times with Edtjuh and seen enough replays. Look, you're nitpicking the argument right now. Yes, grenades on retreat can be devastating if you hit perfectly, of course they can. But you still want to use 2 grenades, spaced out to achieve the best effects. The point is: Spores ...

Re: Space Marine Topic
No, obviously the Librarian isn't the spearhead of the army. But the fact remains that the moment he is committed to melee he can pretty much have a giant crosshair on his head. Yes, he is good in a support role, but sometimes you need that melee power to tip the balance and that is risky in itself....

Re: Tyranid Topic
Annoying? A wiped guardsmen squad is a little more than annoying. Sure it's 100/5 he'll never see again but if he gets one squad down, that's more than worth it. In the end in general spores you can shoot to prevent them from owning you, but there's no recourse with retreat spores coming out in your...

Re: Tyranid Topic
It's a fine fine line between being abuse and being a part of the game... Look at it this way. Case 1: Retreat nade You have to throw a grenade to hit a moving target moving along some rails (retreat path). That means several things: a) You have to judge the retreat path itself. b) You have to judge...

Re: Tyranid Topic
I think the difference here is I don't consider moving a spore mine along the retreat path and following a unit hitting a hotkey counts as skill. On the other hand, a retreat grenade you've at least got to throw it and time in.

Re: Space Marine Topic
Compare him to the other subcommanders. Weirdboy is ranged, is tanky, has a disruptive normal attack, has warp vomit, so is very hard to kill. Autarch has insane speed and leap. Thus these subcommanders can contribute to the fight without really endangering themselves. Almost invariably one of these...

Re: Wish Lists (for beyond 2.1)
If KCSM were comparable to Banshees KCSM would tear ASM to shreds, and any other heavy infantry along with it. You have to bear in mind that KCSM have 2 fewer models than Banshees, and although each KCSM model does more power melee damage than each shee (minus of course the exarch), those 2 models r...

And then you severely hurt its utility against say melee dreadnoughts. Why get the Power Fist at all then?

Re: Force Commander's Power Fist
I only get power fist if I have to, but that's because I think all of his weapons, bar the power sword, are specialist choices. You get TH against melee blobs, Fist for AV and Shield against ranged blobs and/or suppression spam. Anything else and power sword is probably best. The main thing is again...

Re: Wargear
The Chaos Lord walks through cover and cannot be suppressed. The only way to deal with his Damonic Visage IS damage. The same is not true of Warboss, and thus there should be a discrepancy.

Re: Imperial Guard Topic
Whereas in T1 it makes sense to put the Sentinel front and centre, in T2 you have to take a different approach. In main battle, they should be used for fire support, attacking into an exposed flank, or doing a sweeping advance maneuver if there is an advantage to be pressed (enemy tank is in trouble...

Re: Eldar Topic
I like the idea of having a webway in its most basic state for a cheap price. Toil and Raffa are right that 85 red for a Farsight gate is too powerful and too easy to attain. However, all in all it's still 135 red to achieve this, almost as much as an Autarch. Part of the problem with gates in their...
