Re: Chaos vs Sniper scouts
Chaos Lord with Dark Halo & Combiflamer leading in engagements trashes sniper scouts. You bleed them horrendously and tank like a baws (sniper damage has a 0.6 modifier vs commander armor). It's the same power cost he's paying and counters them on every level, plus is good against everything els...

Re: Random in MRT's
Look if you wanna dissect the ins and outs of the arguments, yes there is some merit to Torpid's points. However the whole argument is undercut because there is 1 player who usually goes Random in tournaments. One. Singular. Uno . If this becomes an issue we can sort it out then sure. Two cents is i...

Re: Warp Spiders - opinions
Warp Spiders reinforcement cost is stupendously high for a unit with their hp/model - plasma weapons just melt them in their tight little warpsuits. However this is counterbalanced by their big damage output and teleport. They have a unique further negative modifier on retreat damage too. The Exarch...

Re: Grey Knights Anti-Vehicle
With WATH and Mind Blades, Paladins with a Psycannon will wipe any normal tank if the teleport is used offensively and the tank's pathing isn't perfect. Prisms wipe anyway. But you rely on allied support to stop your Terminators getting deleted. Namely a Fire Prism, Creeping Barrage, Warp or somethi...

Re: Random in MRT's
To reiterate: If you wanna play Random, play it and announce your hero right at the start. And yeah only Crazy, maybe Toil sometimes, uses it. No offence but he hasn't KO'd anyone in the past you'd have expected him to lose to because of Random, let alone won a tourney on the 'Randomness' factor of ...

Re: Random in MRT's
Just make it the player using random has to announce his hero at the start of the game before doing anything else. This stops the opponent losing build times on units they may not want. Ok it handicaps the player using Random by 1 or 2 seconds, but its such a small price to pay I think the randomers...

Techmarine Relay
Overdue discussion, but one everybody and their mum's got an opinion on. Is the Techmarine Relay fair for its price or insanely OP? Depends on the game mode ofc. In 1v1 its fine, but in 2s and 3s its power spikes massively as massive blobs reinforce and retreat to it. Experience from 2v2 and 3v3 is ...

Re: Grey Knights Anti-Vehicle
Paladins with a Psycannon are more than solid AV, but are very close range. No denying they are good, very good, but for super unit cost on a heavy melee squad they damn well better scare the shit outta vehicles. However, I agree with them being limited to 1. When faced with, for ex., a Dread/WL in ...

Look we all appreciate your good intentions, but there's the small matter of stuff needing to be legal. Now this could hypothetically be implemented if someone was to talk to Relic and explicitly get permission to use their stuff, but tbh you're unlikely to get a response, let alone permission. Wort...

Re: Chaos lord blood maul needs a change and heres why
I get claws explicitly for the bubbleshield/harness of rage combo. Otherwise the Baseball Bat. It is in particular better at countering heroes despite lower dps to them(?), since it has a huge ass stun for disabling Lv10 heroes and the like that's ready to single handedly turn the engagement. Agains...

Re: Help with Eldar as IG
Kasrkins are squad deleters, and that's in 1v1. In larger gamemodes where fast-teching and getting them in pairs is viable if you have strong allies, well then they just go batshit crazy, dealing insane amounts of damage on retreating units and easily countering avatars, GUOs, etc.. My biggest probl...

Re: Defending against the Sigil of the Rift
Not as black and white as that. The Librarian is most effective against Chaos, so given his synergies with setup teams (ie Veil of Time), being able to get rid of the Sorcerer's main counter opens up a world of possibilities.

Re: Eversor Assassin - Feedback required
Believe it was Caeltos who suggested a wargear kinda like that :) Otherwise, this Eversor needs to be a killing machine given he is unlikely to have infiltration (except from the oh-so-epik GK Libby), with no real snipe attack, low hp and a bolter equivalent for ranged combat. A means to restore hp ...

Playing 3v3 you accept some variables that are out of your hands like this, you could play like a god but if one of your allies plays badly you could still lose.

Re: New concept for a tournament series! Your opinions count
I do think this is a good idea as it makes them a bit more competitive, but I also believe Raffa has a good point. The only winners we have seen so far are Toilailee, Noisy and Wurgl and Riku winning 1 each. A little concerning. Though, you never know, maybe it will encourage more people to play so...

Re: New concept for a tournament series! Your opinions count
Yes this is a better format. However the tournament scene is basically locked down between Riku, Noisy and Toilailee. That's not to say others can't win, I'm sure Holy could if he joined more, and Tex would always fancy his chances, but our reality is 4 or so players are likely to win. Granted it's ...

Take it up with Relic if you're unhappy with the structure. A Lictor/Ravener leading Tyranids like a Hive Tyrant ain't exactly fluffy. Nor is Apo leading Spess Mehreenz or a Warp Spider leading like a Farseer. To be honest I think it's clear you value the gameplay less than the lore, which as I've s...

Videogames about Batman aren't comics either, and you don't see Batman firing lightnings or laser beams from his eyes in videogames. Elite is a videogame and the matter that is being addressed is: taking a character and completely changing the original idea it was created with. The matters is: an a...

Re: Patch 2.3 Balance changelog
Put it this way - as GK player, I need some more incentives to buy Purgations. They're slow with no melee capability. They will be able to fire at long range but will it be enough to pressure vehicles (GK's main weakness until Paladins)? Is it going to be good enough with Shrouding to convince me to...

Re: Eversor Assassin - Feedback required
As another note in support of the Concept 1 (Buildable) option, Caeltos said that could provoke an overabundance of commander-like units in the GK army, but that's exactly what GK are. Assassins, Champions of the Brotherhood, Inquisitors, Paladins and such are low numbered (often single) units with...
