Re: New Faction
The game is pushing it with 7 races. Remember the dark days of DOWI + expansions.... with every race you add the balancing becomes exponentially more difficult.

Re: Patch 2.5 (WIP)
I understand the community concerns about the overperformance of BroCap, but getting rid of teleport pack seems a bit hasty to me. Move it to T3 and/or cost increase first to see how that changes things? I don't mean to critique your visions for the game, but tanky BroCap teleporting out of fucking...

Re: GM sandbags instead of 'tank traps'
Given how easily they are destroyed I certainly see why sandbags would make more sense. Big concrete blocks seem like they would be more difficult to crush.

- Carnifex Charge range is not as significant as it is now. It's going to be less less range 40 (think around the range of 30-35). - The Carnifex Charge can be counterplayed by utilizing LoS which results in the Charge cancelling out. - The Carnifex Charge has a set duration. If it exceeds the dura...

Re: Knights plz?
DOWII Elite is a game of small armies and micro-management. It isn't a fanservice mod designed to give every possible unit in tabletop some real-time representation just because. Big super units ruined tabletop, and they pretty much ruin the fun of Tier 3 as it is, I think it would be terrible to fo...

Re: Do other IG players make use of "Loyal to the End"?
Does it measure losses based on each time a model dies or based on how many models less than maximum the unit has? ie - Will a 5/12 unit get 7x the bonus if those units were lost before the ability was cast? If a unit keeps losing models and replenishing them, does replenishing diminish the effect o...

Do other IG players make use of "Loyal to the End"?
Title says it all, I make frequent use of mines, bunkers, and flares because they are amazing zone control abilities... as for Loyal to the End, I just have never found an instance where I was willing to part with 125 red in exchange for something like that. I'd take a banewolf drop over this abilit...

Are you referring to the terms loyal/allied? I have seen those two used for different abilities.

Re: Relic Blood Pack DLC
As for the DLC itself lol. Even if I COULD pirate it, I don't want to. It's literally not worth the time to do it. It's probably corny and over the top in terms of the effects. I think Attila TW had something similar released just recently. It was apparently cartoonishly stupid and excessive to the...

Re: Relic Blood Pack DLC
Blame Sega first that's for sure. See what they did with Creative Assembly and their TW Series. Chaos Faction as a DLC?! WTF. Sega's DLC practices have been nothing but disgraceful. Lots of uncritical fanboys defend that practice too - like livestock at the feeding troughs those people are. I am wo...

Re: DoW3 confirmed? :p What do you think?
I guess it's mixed feelings on the sync kills. Personally though? I want all the previously released races to come BACK (Scept maybe Necrons, good lord). I'd love to see new races, but damn did DOWI become a balance nightmare by the time of Dark Crusade and Soulstorm. I think they should stick to ~...

Question about abilities that affect allies vs only your units
Hey all. Has anyone ever gone through all the abilities in this game that affect allied units and cataloged which ones affect allied players and which ones exclusively affect your own units? I don't recall this being specified in the codex (and it's down right now so I can't double check).

Re: DoW3 confirmed? :p What do you think?
People really like those rehearsed deaths and special attacks? It feels like DBZ meets 40K, and is such a lame way for melee combat to be decided. Also having a near invincible unit in a kill animation disrupts combat. It was a micro catastrophe in DOWI.

Inspire Courage Issue
Hey all. So in General Discussion I posted a question about the commissars inspire courage after the carapace armour upgrade. People explained to me that with that upgrade your target no longer gets suppression immunity and break, so I thought I had my issue cleared up. However, when I used a non-up...

Re: SM APO vs MoT CSM
If you are playing APO with the bolter upgrade then you can always use the active ability to knock one of the CSM squads down. Also, as people mentioned, two upgraded TCSM squads is a large investment by your enemy - counter it by having more units on the field.

Would it be possible to have little numbers above units to identify their control group?
I don't actually know precisely what can and cannot be done with the tools available, but if it is possible, could units have small, non-intrusive numbers appear above them (not each model, just one) to show which control group they are assigned to? I'm sure in a lot of cases this would be minimally...

Re: Question about Commissars Inspire Courage
It does go well with the carapace armour, but I really liked the fact that the commissar could break and prevent suppression on a target unit. The offensive commanders in this game are too 1-dimensional and prone to being used as 1-man armies... I like the commissars emphasis on buffing other units ...

Re: Relic Blood Pack DLC
I'm conflicted. DLC means they are still paying attention to the franchise, but at the same time DLC is stupid and a scourge to gaming. Just look at what it did to the Total War series.

Re: Lord Commisar Wargear is MAAAAD!!
The refractor field should not be as good as other commanders energy shields, they pay good money for those. This guy gets one for free. Its not even his defining ability (that would be inspire courage) - this is literally just a free energy shield.

Re: Question about Commissars Inspire Courage
I was fooled by this at one point as well. It breaks suppression from the commissar, but not from the squad. I would love if it broke suppression from the squad and not the commissar. Wow, talk about terrible design and a horrible trade-off. Guess I'll be choosing a new armour upgrade for him. The ...

I was thinking maybe I have to interpret the text ultra-literally, as in the suppression break on the target no longer applies, but seemed like too much of a tradeoff.

Re: Bugs/Issues Thread
This is a frequent problem I have with Catachans Ol'reliable. Often, I will fire it off at a target, the energy cost and cooldown will register on the UI, but the catachans will not fire the grenades. Its frustrating because it is a battle-deciding ability in many situations. It is also a bit ironic...

Question about Commissars Inspire Courage
I've been trying to get into the habit of making more frequent use of inspire courage and naturally picked up the carapace armour upgrade. One tactic for dealing with early turret cheese is to send a GM squad with the flamer upgrade up to the turret with inspire courage active and let the flamers to...

Re: Lord Commisar Wargear is MAAAAD!!
The power sword may be the best T1 commander weapon upgrade in the game. He gains extra base damage, power weapon damage, and the ability to always perform a special attack. This means he is substantially more effective against commanders, heavy infantry, and numerous light infantry all at once. I u...

I'll have pay attention to which models act this way from now on, but I could have sworn it was only the sergeants who behaved this way. I can't recall a standard GM model engaging in this behaviour. Re: Patch 2.5 (WIP)
"They" can add the repair ability to individual models, assuming they don't have it already. It could very well aid in the sarges moving away so far. A little bit of micro does indeed solve the issue, but it can't hurt to try. I know scouts do the same thing, but just don't go that far. I...
