There are a tonne of commanders/abilities/roles that could be included in the game with some simple modding. The problem is, when you add too much to a game like DOWII you make it increasingly difficult to balance. The Elite Mod team doesn't add things on a because-we-can basis.

Sniper units that 1-shot any model are asking for trouble and probably will result in super toxic game play, no matter how well-intentioned.

Agree with the catachan smoke grenade. It has such a short cooldown and provides great ranged damage resistance. The only universal must-gets are the tier upgrades at your base. Don't be that guy who finds himself at 200 power in T1 when your enemies vehicles start showing up and you have no AV. Timing your T2 upgrade is a critical part of the game.

They are supposed to be support/fodder. That ability is really there for the suppression anyway. By making them cheaper and weaker they have fit them more tightly into their niche.

I hate facing timefield as much as anyone else - it is so cute when people tell you not to let your units blob in tight 3v3 lanes... but still, it isn't game-breaking levels of strong.
