Re: As IG

Depending on how good his micro was, a Manticore or two would absolutely thrash his army. Chimera supporting plasma guardsmen is also a possibility so long as they aren't too bunched up to minimize the grenade launcher damage. Given the sheer weight of his T1, I don't think psycannon spam would be t...

Re: Tyranids (suggestions, ideas, wishes, modification)

Tyranids already have Deadly Jump on the Lictor to act as a psudo-teleport, as well as the charge on the Hive Tyrant for a lesser version. Adding another jump/teleport ability to the faction might be a bit of overkill.

Re: 2.4 D-cannons

Riku and the others raise a good point in saying that the D-Cannon is meant more for hammering a defensive line then they are for being an anti-all artillery unit. The Fire Prism pretty much acts as the counterpart insomuch as it has big instant aoe hits on moving targets, plus disruption, in exchan...

Re: Fire Dragons

Fire dragons are part of the Eldar roster, they have plenty of tools to approach. Most of which are very blatant and easy to see such as Holo Fields, Cloak of Shadows, Group Teleport, Falcon (which adds to the cost of fielding them significantly), and so on. None of these are particularly sneaky or...

Re: Fire Dragons

Personally I really enjoy seeing my opponents field Dragons since it means they won't be buying anything big and scary like a Falcon or a Wraithlord in a timely manner. Against infantry they're pretty much just an expensive damage sponge that costs power to reinforce, and they can only be a threat t...

Re: A Few Eldar Questions

I've not got the experience to back it up, but while you keep asserting that FD are an anti-vehicle choice, while differentiating them from anti-everything, the codex says their weapons still have .8 accuracy against small targets and do 16.8 DPS per model to infantry, while WS do 18.26 dps and hav...

Re: Ogryns... to dam expensive?

While I'm not a super skilled IG player, I find that Ogryns work really well with Commissar Aura of Discipline. Thanks to their low model count they get big heals from it with each pulse, and often end up rolling over opponents who aren't heavily committed to anti-ogryn tech. Thanks to their big pre...

Re: 2.4 D-cannons

Can confirm on the D-Cannons missing. They've done that since retail, and it's often confused me that people seem to think that they don't. While I didn't use them all that frequently, I did see them missing fairly regularly. Not as often as something like Plasma Devs mind, and obviously not as visi...

Re: Looking after your units

Generally speaking it just comes down to practice with that. Controlling your units gets more difficult when you've got a lot of squads, but after a while you'll get used to managing them far more effectively. If you want to simplify things you can rebind the control groups in game with Cntrl + (any...

Re: How do i deal with the WSE *

Just throwing it out there, you could position your DA more to the front behind a perfect cover shield. And then the stealth unit goes around them. Unless you've got 3x DA all with Exarch to form a screen, they really shouldn't have all that much issue. I wasn't trying to annoy anybody, merely poin...

Re: How do i deal with the WSE *

They are a good way to guard your Shrunken. Maybe GWT may have a chance to kill, at least suppress it when it arrives. Just throwing it out there, but the Exarch/Warlock leader has a detection range of 15 which is outranged by pretty much everything used to counter setup teams (grenades/flesh hooks...

Re: A Few Eldar Questions

1) I do read the stuff you write, now read what I write. Nobody else but Caeltos can tell you why they are designed the way they are. The rest of us can only make a guess. Fire Dragons do put pressure on a vehicle without another investment. It's just your opinion that they seem not to. Then I supp...

Re: A Few Eldar Questions

Just because you bought a counter doesn't actually mean you're going to instantly kill the thing you want it to counter. Issue about Rangers red and point still stands as there is no issue. Issue about flanking ignored as there is no issue. Read the synergy part again and I'm talking about the warp...

Re: A Few Eldar Questions

Dragons do create a danger zone as well, opponents can't just run in their transport on your shury position to unload a melee squad for example. Actually, they can so long as they're careful. Dragons have such short range that the transport can swoop in, offload, and be out of reach before the Drag...

Re: A Few Eldar Questions

It was clear, but this holds true for about any AV squad. I feel like I'm repeating myself at this point, but I'll try to explain my reasoning once again. The problem is that Dragons don't threaten the vehicle they were purchased to counter without investing in another heavy purchase. Lascannons wi...

Re: A Few Eldar Questions

Look up some good Eldar play with Fire Dragons, like the one you mentioned from Hans, or keep trying to use them when the opportunity is right. They are not going to hunt down vehicles on their own, just the same as most other AV squads. That's kind of the point of this forum. There are no replays ...

Re: A Few Eldar Questions

I'm a little confused here Kvn. You come here asking for opinions and views from other people but you seem to have your own, set in stone, opinion on everything already. What exactly are you trying to find here? Maybe I haven't been expressing my goals all that well, but what I'm looking to do is t...

Re: A Few Eldar Questions

I don't understand why you think kinetic shot + grenade combo requires your opponent not to react in time. This combo is deadly for anything and cannot be avoided (or with a mere 10% damage reduction if you hit retreat). In my experience, I've had a surprising number of opponents react to it by for...

Re: A Few Eldar Questions

With respect Cyris, I'd have to disagree. They might have the KB immunity and damage resist, but as stated above they still drop dead at a stiff breeze thanks to their low health pool, bleeding Eldar eco heavily. Against transports they get kited to eternity. Walkers turn around and punch them to de...

Re: A Few Eldar Questions

Thank you for taking the time to reply, but I would like to point out that I'm not a new player. I've been playing Elite since it came out, and I'm well aware of all the changes that have been made, both buffs and nerfs, to these units. The suppression is pointless as it requires you to spend 600 re...

A Few Eldar Questions

Hello. Long time player, first time poster. I'd like to start off by thanking Caeltos and everyone involved with this mod for the incredible work they've done to benefit both the game and the Dawn of War community as a whole. On topic though, I've been wondering about a couple of units in the Eldar ...
