Re: Chaos heretics aspiring champion questions
If he was just another cultist, he would have less hp, and in this game having a high-hp models leading low-hp squads is a fantastic way to avoid squad wipes by AOE spells.

Re: Killing Weirdboy as IG
I used to not play him at all, but since the Eldar reached unheard of levels of obnoxiousness post-2.5.0, I've picked him up and found LG-based ranged superiority builds amazing against both Eldar spam and other races. Maybe his abilities don't quite reach the level of power and synergy that a LC in...

Re: Unit Guides
I agree with Tini, lots of vague analyses made that really don't improve anyone's understanding of how DOW2 strategy works. If you are writing a guide you want to be very specific and even include math when possible. If you make a statement like "ASM have the least synergy with TM" you hav...

If that sentinel happened to be a walking plasma cannon with AOE damage and control spells. Kinda hard to not want to kill it.

Killing Weirdboy as IG
Hi all,
My only reliable way to kill a Weirdboy as IG right now is to play LC, get 2-3 STs, and basically burst him down to <300hp and finish him off with inspire terror.
Do IG players have other ways of actually killing this fucker reliably?

Wow, that makes perfect sense, thanks!
I had assumed upkeep was an all-or-nothing deal where once you exceeded 30 pop everything was taxed.

Why don't structures have an upkeep value?
According to the codex - turrets, bacons, banners, nests, and bunkers do not have any upkeep cost. Is there a reason why they don't? These buildings can have a substantial impact on the outcome of the game, and many of them a population cost... so why not an upkeep as well?

Re: Scouts...
I can see that there is a lore reason and potentially a balance reason for scouts to at least be able to beat a setup team in melee (not havocs/devs, but IG/Ork/Eldar).
Would SM players be willing to pay the extra price to have this improved melee damage though?

Your vanilla scouts are not a direct combat unit. In the early engagements you keep them at a distance and let them kite melee heroes and units while your tacs and hero do the damage. Either that or you send them out to cap points.

also there's a problem with GM Sargents, they run past their squad and often finds themselves all the way into the other team... This makes it really really dangerous to stay in the fight since if you let your gm health's down enough a retreat would just be them standing around waiting for the sarg...

Re: Chaos lord bugs out Senti
There are lots of ways to exploit the horrendous DOWII vehicle pathing. I've had meks teleport directly behind my sentinel, causing it to spin around on the spot like a moron. I've had a hormagaunt squad completely surround it and render it immobile. If I didn't have to get a sentinel I never would....

Re: Cadian Kasrkin Squad with grenade launchers.
I was in a casted game recently where a Kasrkin nade squad made dealing with the 2-3 enemy nob squads much easier - the nobs were often camping the VP and exploiting their obscene HP values and invincibility to drain our VP count... other than that very particular situation I would never purchase a ...

Re: So what is actually happening in Turkey and why?
For those of us who were rooting for secular democracy in the Islamic world, Turkey is a big heartbreak. It has been close to a century since Ataturk laid the foundation for a country which was, at the time, more modern and secular than many countries in Europe... and now their president is just ano...

Re: Reduce the power cost of Catachan Devil's shotgun blast to 20?
Ya, I've assumed that the bug fix which prevented the ability from outright failing caused the ability to be essentially cast again, charging the extra energy, but that could be completely wrong.

Reduce the power cost of Catachan Devil's shotgun blast to 20?
I put this idea forth not because I think a shotgun blast should cost less than 40 energy for balance's sake, but because the ability seems to bug out and double-charge energy so often that it's effective energy cost right now is 80. Until a solution for this double-charging of energy for the shotgu...

I guess one thing I really like in this video is the new orbital bombardment. I like the single moving beam, rather than three stationary beams that inexplicably have anti-gravity side effects.

It seems like this coup is being used to dramatically increase the power of the government with respect to detaining and punishing political dissidents. This bodes very poorly for Turkey if it turns out to be true.

Don't play a lot of 1v1, but since patch 2.5.0 the Eldar vs IG matchup has been terrible for the IG player. If 3v3 is any indication, using LG might be your best bet.

Too bad they didn't take out Erdogan. Turkey was supposed to be an example of Islam's compatibility with modern secular democracy (something I become less and less convinced of each year), but they go and elect an Islamist lunatic like Erdogan. Well, hopefully someone else will take him out or he wi...

Even though some of these upgrades seem cool, these decisions are only made for the sake of balance.
I would love a bullgryn upgrade for my ogryns, but I don't think that is sufficient for Elite mod to create one.

Re: A Numerical Comparison of Plasma GMs vs Plasma Kasrkins
Plasma Kasrikin must do higher damage. Why? They are doing lightly more damage than a Tac plasma? Because in T3, all units are leveled up and we need much better performance than current. They are anti-armour you know, you gonna counter Terminators and shit. You MUST do higher damage. For balance's...

A Numerical Comparison of Plasma GMs vs Plasma Kasrkins
Hi all, I almost never buy kasrkins, and I rarely see people voicing positive opinions of them. Some people like to purchase their grenade launcher purely for its passive knockback, but as far as I remember, any time a high-skill IG player has talked about kasrkin plasma guns, it has been generally ...

I would prefer this not be implemented. If Ace's claim about tanks and dreads behaving stupidly is true then it just seems like a huge increase in risk for minimal reward to the player. The problem it is solving is so minimal that I don't think the risks are worth it.
