Re: Vindicare Assasin AV Damage

That seems needlessly complex and why no to durability? the only justification for having a sub 500 hp unit in t2 is either it is a tank or it does something dangerous. and the vindi is really only dangerous when super buffed. you remove the super buff and all you have left is a ridiculously squishy...

Re: Vindicare Assasin AV Damage

so logically would this be fixed if the 50% damage bonus was changed to a 50% rate of fire bonus? same dps , but it avoids the ugly situation of sniping models with no warning. That being said , if we were to reduce the potency of the vindi assassin then his standalone durability needs to be compens...

let's not forget the combination of mind blades, shrouding, and target acquired that leads to absurd unavoidable damage spikes on high value infantry or vehicles https://i.imgflip.com/w4dtd.jpg http://dawnofwar.info/assets/img/dow2/ability/gk_target_acquired.png http://dawnofwar.info/assets/img/dow...

Re: Tactical marines sergeant

I dont think anyone is saying that the tac sarge is under performing so much that it is clearly inferior to other sarges . Only that he is just kind of mediocre on his own . Too dependent on outside circumstances for my liking.

Re: Tactical marines sergeant

The ability could maybe turn into something less impactful but more spammable. Like reduced damage resistance but also takes less damage to charge it. Sarge Melee skill could go up for the duration of the kraken rounds. Overall however I don't think Tac Sarge is a bad upgrade at its current state. ...

Re: Tactical marines sergeant

Realistically speaking , the 25 power is actually for the option to have a 4th model over anything else. this is because heavy infantry like tacs, csm , or strikes are already pretty well rounded as units. they do the same as or more ranged damage than any one light infantry squad they have way more...

I think everyone is aware that it was a shallow marketing ploy. Rather i think that is part of the problem. things like this always ,without fail, provide extremely dry kindling for a witch hunt. Re: Is Storm Shield too good in tier 1?

Storm Shield is fine just focus fire FC Doesnt the fc also get really tanky with the storm sheild? he gets an extra 100 hp and another 20% passive ranged damage resistance , you throw in the artificer armor and you are looking at a 1120 hp commander with decent hp regen as well before even consider...

Re: Patch 2.5 (WIP)

I agree about the seer council, all in all they are probably the least impactful *super* infantry unit in the game . even without the power costs on it , it is not a particularly good global. something you get if you dont want a d-cannon, cant afford an avatard and dont want to risk a prism or alrea...

Re: Removing detection from detectors inside transports

I'll make this perfectly clear so that this can't cause any confusion in case the title was not clear enough. That's only two examples out of a possible many. Most of which cause more problems than what they offer. There's more than one way to play and the use this "feature" can give you ...

Re: Removing detection from detectors inside transports

considering that in order to get a mobile detector they have to buy 2 units i think it is fine. it would be one thing if you could cheaply get away with this, but both detectors and transports are inherent power sinks. if your opponent can afford to be faffing about in a transport chasing your steal...

Re: Unbalanced or I am mistaken in anyway?

Not sure about 190 req tics. They lose a significant portion of the melee damage but a lot of their damage is in doomblast. I feel melee tics will be overall nerfed in their vanilla state. It is a buff for GL tics but need to see how the melee heretic thing plays out. It is, it's gonna make them st...

Re: GM sandbags instead of 'tank traps'

Changing from the Dragon's Teeth to sandbags wouldn't really change anything except the fact that it looks more practical (creating a concrete block in 10 seconds or less...), then add on that depending on how it's implemented it can adequately provide cover for a 7-12 model squad, sandbags are def...

Re: Unbalanced or I am mistaken in anyway?

This is an easy question because assult terminators have access to thunder hammers which claws are an optional sidegrade too. They don't need claws to be good in melee. The chaos terms do. So you can argue the ass terms can be cheaper if they don't need the claws

Re: Could large 3v3 maps be designed to promote capping and minimize blobbing?

there are large maps that dont promote blobing, no one plays them because no one actually likes large maps , probably because the individual races have uneven proficiency at map control and mobility.

I think the op is explicitly talking about the lift effect from gravity blade , gravity grenade and the chaos lords consume thing and orbital. all of which propel infantry units 10 - 30 feet in the air (way over what any melee unit would realistically be able to hit. at the highest point these units...

I would be nice if the warlock got some of his other nerfed wargear (because of hod) buffed again. the fire dragons being durable is not an issue. they are a short ranged melta unit that lack a root or disable. they need to be durable and fast or they simply would not do their primary function at all. The knockback resistance is the main issue here. And increasing pop requirements is never the an...

Dow 1 and 2 are functionally very different games that scratch two very unique itches. If you simply want to relish in the general mayhem of extended colourful battles with lots of units. Well sad to say dow 1 and its expansions are still the dominant force of the two games by a substantial margin e...

Well in the most technical of senses it did get hit with a massive nerf rod. two if i recall. 1 was that it moved a tier 2 was that relic made it so it could not work on retreating units ( along with a host of other abilities like it that could just annihilate retreating units effortlessly ). Hod needed to die. but it also needed to be replaced by another passive/ non energy dependent wargear. preferably another damage charge up one.
