Re: Are Sync-Kills gone?
Unfortunately no, they still go off when you wipe the last model of a squad. They look like the bastard child of WWE and Dragonball Z (+lots of needless blood spurts), I've hated them since DOWI.

Honestly, I don't have high hopes. I have this horrible feeling that it will have rock-paper-scissors balancing, which produces the absolute worst games imaginable.

Forwards bases are strong enough without improving their ability to heal heroes. This would only make them more easy to abuse.

Re: 2.5.1 Bugs/Issues
Encountered a weird bug where Catachans will spontaneously use up 80+ energy using one of their abilities even when their energy is full I have noticed that as well, I think it showed up at the same time as last patch's bug fix for IG abilities. Maybe the ability still bugs out but the fix causes t...

Considering going cold turkey on sentinels
Hi all, I wanted to see what other IG players thought about abstaining from the use of sentinels. Specifically, are there any matchups where you consider 1 sentinel to be essential? I know that when I am facing orks and nids they are amazing at deterring sluggas/hormagaunts... but otherwise I hate t...

Re: Commissar Lord Power Sword Change
I was thinking the exact same thing a while back. Not a critical change, but it would be a nice visual touchup.
AFAIK all true swords in the 40K universe, aside from those the orks use, are power swords while all standard cc weapons are usually chainswords, knives, and improvised weapons.

Re: Re-Evaluation of Dire Avengers
The main drawback to DA, I have found, is their lack of utility post-T1 when piercing damage doesn't mean shit. They have short-range detection, deployable perfect cover, grenades (now with 100% extra AV), repair, as well as FOF and Embolden. They seem like one of the most versatile T1 units in the...

Re: Understanding IG vs Eldar match up
The exarchs only worsen this by adding substantial ranged damage reduction (which is, of course, the only form of damage that an IG army has in T1) They don't get the damage reduction in T1. :o I guess thats why you shouldn't skim read tooltips. Still, the RDR hurts in T2, since IG still rely prima...

Re: Understanding IG vs Eldar match up
3 DA will melt a sentinel (Tactical marine squad dps for 270 req). Throw in a Farseer's guide on one of the squads, a warlock hero with his destructor and melee damage to drive away the GM sqauds, or a WS with his own beefy ranged dps, and the IG character will not be able to hold against an aggress...

They will shred heavy/super heavy infantry, but the loss of the melta bombs and the fact that you need to further purchase the painfully mediocre powerfist means that you are better spending your T3 resources on something else.

Re: Any Hope For Me?
There is definitely hope. Just don't expect to start playing on par with someone who has 500+ hours while you have a double-digit number. Half of this game is just about memorizing each race's cheap gimmicks and how to counter them early on. I have 900+ hours, 600 of which are from 2009-2010, and I ...

Re: Sternguard Ammo
Dragonfire rounds ignore cover, however you won't find yourself needing them often. The only major advantage they give is the 1X damage vs garrisoned units (garrison normally is a 0.3X modifier), but by the time you have a sternguard squad garrisoned infantry are already not much of a threat.

Do tactical marines have a built-in buff that activates in combat?
Hi all, I've noticed that SM units - specifically tacs - will randomly receive a glowing yellow aura in the middle of combat without their commander using any ability (or at least it seems that way, maybe I am not paying close enough attention). Is there some combat buff that activates on SM units, ...

Crappy trailer, not very impressive first screenshots.
I'm ashamed to admit I did actually get my hopes up. This looks and feels like it was designed by the people who spawned Age of Skubmar. Maybe I'm wrong, and these early sneakpeaks are misleading.

Re: LC vs PC
I found that being aggressive was the best way to win. If you allow your army to be idle, that is time the PC gets to entrench and setup up his damage sponge army behind cover. Getting that early sentinel out to harass the cultists, getting catachans or spotters for the havocs, getting the sword on ...

Re: IG imbalances
I don't see why spotters need more hp. Each model already has twice the HP of a regular GM, which is quite generous, since they are just GM with some binoculars and a mortar. Considering that they should be a screen's length away from any action most of the time, their hitpoints are not an issue if ...

Re: LC vs PC
How experienced are you at this game (how many hours)? On an equal-skill basis, the PC vs LC does tend to favour the PC, but not to the extent that you claim. The PC and the Chaos roster in general have lots of low-effort ways to punish the high-model/low-hp nature of the IG roster, but as someone w...

Re: Extra damage of grenades vs armor.
Ya, since 3X DA is a fairly popular eldar build nowadays, the extra grenade damage is too dangerous for enemy light vehicles. I have toasted enemy transports that were at 50%hp, and have even taken out walkers at low hp. Frag/photon grenades and stickbombs should not really be anti-vehicle, they are...

Re: CSM get a rhino
It does seem punishing to be the only race without a transport. Of course, with a new transport vehicle there would probably be a need for serious re-balancing of other aspects of the race, since as people have pointed out, limited mobility is one of the weaknesses factored into certain chaos units ...

Thanks, but it's sad. LC seems the weakest character in IG.
He has a steeper learning curve than the INQ and LG, but he can actually be the most dangerous IG commander to face if used properly.

I don't have a thematic replacement at the moment, for a place-filler they could make it a chimera. Still allows for vehicle rushing, which is still a tactic for assholes, but a chimera can't wipe a gen farm in 30 seconds.
