Re: The Codex WIP

I assume you're referring to the questions in that other thread? I'm not actually sure now. I thought it meant 5 hp/s per model, but now I think I'll leave it to someone else to answer :) . Yeah, exactly that! It's slowly driving me crazy, such a basic thing and I can't confirm/deny it :). Anyway, ...

Re: The Codex WIP

You are doing a great job with the Codex, thanks Windu! One of the big problem DoW2 had since the beginning was lack of something similar to the Codex. The in game descriptions are usually so vague it's hard to decipher what they actually do without going through gamefiles. I think it could have put...

There's no need to name them, but he's not the only one I usually get the power fist on FC even when the walker isnt on the field, its just freaking amazing combined iwth alacrity and halo, making it track is kinda silly Well, there is. If you are coming with such strong claims like "I have no...

Re: The force commander and his clothes

The terminator armour is indeed in a weird spot...I remember using it only one time and that was because I was sucking through the whole game making my FC very low level in T3. I wonder if it would be possible to allow changing the FC back from terminator armour to normal armour. All your previously...

Re: Khorne marines

appiah4, Chaos now also have raptors which further indirectly hurt KCSM - they fill the niche of good health, heavy armour melee, only they come a tier sooner and can jump and supress. But as I wrote, these problems don't explicitly mean there is something wrong with KCSM. The problem may be in the ...

Re: Khorne marines

I won't pretend that I'm a Chaos expert, but I think some points are being missed. 1) KCSM are not purely dedicated melee. They are melee upgrade to ranged squad. Complaining that they lose to dedicated melee is like complaining that plasma tacts lose to dark reapers. Banshees and sluggas both start...

Re: Patch 2.3 Balance changelog

Be more specific Raffa, who are those players who thinks the FoS change is broken? Only one I've seen complaining about it is you. I'll give you that it's a big buff against transport play, but against walkers it's a nerf. Especially against the hugbot. It is piss easy to land a FoS on it now, when ...

Re: Grav Gun

Honestly, just reskin seems like a missed opportunity.

The model is great and grav guns have pretty rich and interesting backround. I would much rather see it added as a new gun with new effect.

And I do believe that SM lacks anti SHI damage, hence the suggestion.

Re: Patch 2.3 Balance changelog

Crewfinity, I though it doesn't take into effect the "natural" regeneration of some units, only the benefits of the worship itself. Barrogh, I though it's going from 5 to 10 (or 7,5 or 12,5). Actually that was like Caeltos himself explained in on the first page (the number were changed a l...

Re: Patch 2.3 Balance changelog

Chaos allies in radius 35 have their health regeneration increased by 3.5 hp/s, while daemons have their health regeneration increased by 10 hp/s and energy regeneration increased by 1.5 e/s. What this means is that the following happends; - Daemons have their health regeneration increased from bot...

Re: Patch 2.3 - Tentative Balance changelog

Regarding SG, I don't think they need a sergeant capable of specials. I don't want them to become even more similar to tacts. If you want them to be better in close combat, how about increasing their melee skill to 70 so they wouldn't spend half the fight on their asses? What I would really like to ...

Barrogh, I misread your original post, I though you were saying that they ignore all invulns, even for infantry. There was definitely some discussion regarding cover and invuln saves for vehicles, but I actually don't remember the general consensus. But yeah, GW really dropped the ball with (not onl...

Re: Drop Pod rework

Orkfaeller is correct, assault marines and VG can be deployed without jumpack and actually the drop pod insertion is pretty valid (imagine deep strike behind enemy lines to capture building or get into other tight places, where the JP would do more harm than good). That's why I put it in this thread...

Re: Drop Pod rework

Well I don't expect it to be implemented, but the concept seemed interesting enough for some discussion.

But I don't think slow would be a problem. The unit could act as a counterinitiation or could be buffed by VoT, becoming pretty fast.

Re: Drop Pod rework

I have this rather silly idea, which is probably not worth creating it's own thread, but could fit nicely into this one and I'd like to see same feedback. What if the drop pod came with marines equivalent to vanguards...but without the jumpack? Purely melee unit, not dissimilar to KCSM. And then, in...

Re: Chaos and Marks

While I always welcome new meaningful addition to the game, I would prefer more focus on other races. And I especially disagree with making Chaos more marine oriented. We already have Space Marines and Grey Knights for that. IMHO even adding Chaos terminators was a big mistake. More daemons, sure! ...

Re: Grav Gun

Awesome job, Santos! As for implementation, I would like to see them added to SM in general, not just TM. If the melta needs some tweaking, then tweak it, don't replace it. It's true that it feels a little one dimensional so an added ability wouldn't hurt. My take on grav guns - a T3 tact upgrade (i...

Re: Bottom Tier Heroes

Both SS and teleport are amazing, but they have their problems. SS require a decent army support which leads to map control problems, as Tex pointed out. Teleport is not available early enough. I actually don't have that much problems with supression, but that's because I play mainly team games, whe...

Repair bonus on the axe seems like a great idea.

Adding knockback immunity to just the axe (with or without the shield) would be too much?

Re: Suggestion: Make Whirlwind into a Razorback upgrade

The super units might be imprecisely defined but everybody knows what is meant by them anyway... They could be very loosely divided into two groups - close range support oriented (avatar, LRC, ...) or long range damage oriented (bblade, LRP). Every race could pick just one...every race except Chaos,...

Re: Hammernators ability idea

I don't think they are perfectly fine. I don't remember much games where the FC player didn't go for claws as soon as he could afford. Only against Nids, because fex and sl both have vehicle armor. Their damage output is nothing amazing - the whole squad does only 21 DPS more than the ranged termies...

Interesting, both Levitation Field and Anti-Grav Grenade are listed as having weapon knockback in Codex, so they shouldn't work on termies.

At the beginning, I though just about immunity to ability knockback and stun, two things which could quite effortlessly disable your termies and are not exactly uncommon. But then I though that it could be even more interesting this way. As for reasoning how to resist spells - there is always a chan...

Re: Suggestion: Make Whirlwind into a Razorback upgrade

There is no need to move the WW into T3. I still think making it a T2 upgrade to RB (as was my original suggestion) would work best. As for other LR variants...yeah, some of them would be really nice, Helios among them ;). But no other super units in Retribution is upgradeable, so i don't expect any...

Hammernators ability idea

I was recently looking at this thread http://www.dawnofwar.info/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=648 and got an idea for assterm (hammers only) ability, in spirit of this quote For an example of this, the Assault Terminators are more frontline damage-soakers, whereas they will trade their fall off in d...
