Re: 2.9 Balance List as of 10/28/18
I'm not sure how I feel about making all of these abilities no longer affect allied races. Everyone knows that 3v3 is a balance shitshow, but one of the fun things that separates 3v3 from 1v1 is finding ways to make abilities and globals from 1 race synergize with another, and a lot of these changes...

The fact that you refer to the retail snipers 1-shotting low-tier infantry says it all. You're having a hard time adjusting to this mod after playing retail.

Re: Future balance direction
I do not even play 1v1 and I think it ought to be designed around 1v1. 3v3 is mostly mindless blob throwing and there is also the possibility for a player who is losing their lane to be bailed out by teammates - making up to some extent for imbalances in certain matchups; this is not the case in 1v1...

Re: Limiting nob squad purchase to one squad
As much as I hate the impact nobz have on late game 3v3s, squad capping is also very distasteful and should be limited to extreme cases (zoans).

Re: 2.9 Beta 1 - Preview changelog
The Curse of Tzeentch change is interesting. It seems more balanced, but I am going to miss making IG infantry blobbers squeal like a stuck pig with dank flames + CoT combo... Edit - Maybe I am reading this incorrectly... Does this mean CoT no longer makes units explode or is the incoming damage inc...

I miss 2009-2010 when you would hit the ranked match button and be placed in a match in under 5 seconds.

Nids just don't belong in this game from a lore perspective. Small armies of squads that gain veterancy and retreat rather than being wiped is not remotely niddy in nature.

Wait, if I destroy a partly-finished node, my opponent gets a partial refund? Fuck that - you should be prepared to pay the full price, no refunds, or else don't node it.

Re: Why is SM so strong in 3v3? - Analysis
As someone else pointed out - one of the problems is that it was meant to counter ranged blobs but it also lets SM melee units win melee fights because of its lack of friendly fire. If you gave the missiles friendly fire damage and knockback, then would still be good against ranged blobs but wouldn'...

He is pointing out that the higher melee DPH of the fex is outweighed by the amazing support aura that the Avatar has, along with it's excellent crowd control abilities.

Re: Apothecary things
So he has access to both. And? Now he is able to take on another kind of role that he would not be able to without the jump pack. The jump pack is not just a slight enhancement to existing melee apo builds - it would completely change how he plays. It still costs something and is seperated by tiers...

Re: Apothecary things
@Oddnerd High risk, high reward; if apo heals, he cannot jump out, if he does , he can t support as well. You have a habit of saying that adding something completely new would be ok because there is a tradeoff between it and preexisting wargears; this is not the correct way to look at it.... Yes, h...

Re: Apothecary things
And Apo can t support as well, due to having less abilities/energy and jumping set-ups means splitting him from the main force; so even if he had the energy, getting in range would also be needed. This is no different from the current situation necessarily - currently, jumping SUTs typically involv...

Re: Apothecary things
Would a 90% dmg reduction on full auto fire and removing the aoe so it only disrupts single targets work? EDIT - without even playing, here are 2 concerns about the jumppack change: 1 - Now the apo can counter setup teams, which means if he has an ASM, they could counter probably 3 SUTs between the ...

Re: Apothecary things
I said in the first post, that Apo is not weak, but plays too 1-dimensional,certain options are quiet niche and seldom seen, in contrary to Armor of Apothecarion, Advanced med and bolter. And this is boring to face again and again. Then the problem is the internal balance of his existing wargear. R...

Re: Apothecary things
So basically everything I said was terrible and I need to get better? Yes. Sorry, but I don't act on this basis. Then you aren't going to get better at an appreciable rate. When someone who is new to the game is struggling with a certain commander, it almost always comes down to strategy. You aren'...

@BlackRelic pls argue the point and not the poster! People have been trying that, and it is about as effective as arguing with a brick wall. You clearly don't have it in you to understand why your suggestion is terrible, so Relic's point that you need experience to see this firsthand is correct. A ...

Re: Apothecary things
As I see it, it is the wargear and particularly the armors, that are the problems. The apo lacks an offensive wargear to improve the potency of the axe, that s why I advocated for him to get an jumppack. He lacks an offensive wargear because he is not an offensive commander. He isn't supposed to be...

Re: Apothecary things
Every single commander with teleport (vanilla or through wargear) is an insufferable cunt to deal with in many matchups and maps. If apo gets a jump ability then you will be seeing a lot of "no apo" lobbies.

Some of these changes... CSM upkeep, horm leap damage, UYC reduced to 75 red... I just don't get it.
Still, thanks to everyone who did the mostly thankless job of making this patch happen.

Re: how to beat IG as Space Marines
I dont play a lot of SM but when I played against SM as IG I remember some of the tactics that worked well. Riku's suggestion is a solid one - the amount of piercing damage that 2 tacs and a Fc with the stormshield active can absorb is incredible, allowing you to beat the IG player at his own game. ...
