Re: 2.2 preview

against multiple setup teams or setup teams backed up with ranged firepower or shoota spams and such, i'd definitely say spotters are better. With a catachan build you can actually kill your opponents squads in your engagements you can't really do that in t1 with an Arty spotter build, other than f...

Re: 2.2 preview

Fixing an animation error is always nice, but there's no reason to buff spotter's dps. these guys can already hard counter a set up team or even two with support, while also helping vs ranged blobs with smokes and melee with the frag shells. They're fine for their price.

Re: Invisible abilities

The strength of such abilities lies in them not being detectable. If you are always looking 100% of the time at where your enemy tries to manticore strike then depending on the map, your enemy may never even force you to retreat ever, which wastes 100 power. The same applies to plague clouds, except...

Re: Maps for july's monthly rumble

I would request the removal of carrion simply because it's a very small map that greatly favours offensive commanders and certain races (tyranids/chaos) over others (eldar/ig). Also carrion has the most ridiculous retreat paths ever. Catachan fortress and sector 95 IMO are playable maps, but I don't...

So DoM is still over performing... It destroys everything but tanks in mere seconds. It still does way to much damage with the psychic storm destroying any super units going from nobs, terminators to the avatar and GUO. And then if you try to melee it it just pops up his leech life. Well that needs solving some how because anyone who argues it's balanced is just blind. Anyway back to the more pertinent issue here (because more people are doing it) - the painboy. I just had a game with Bad Ash and this thing is just joke. Orks do fantastic dps, but they bleed to compensate for i...

Not until the current ones are balanced. Grey knights are not balanced yet.

And then there is the issue of models. Which frankly we don't have.

Re: PvP behaviours

Sometimes small squads or heroes get stuck in your base after a mass retreat because they are surrounded by units, but like you say shouldn't the other units just move out of the way, especially if we are talking about a HT here. Could that be related to it?

Re: Introduction of new concepts

Implementing a democratic method of implementation in the elitist elite mod will not go down well I assure you. Still there has to be some way of doing this, because quite frankly what we are doing at the moment is getting nowhere; it's as bad as philosophical polemic. *sigh* I dunno. Kudos to you f...

Re: The maps of Max Power - first WIP shots of my latest map

Can you do a Selenon Fissure redux? That map would be good with a few balance changes I think... yeah, that would be amazing. Just level it out or something, dunno why they decided to make it to favoured to one side. Levelling it out and shifting the power points around a bit could work out really ...

I never said eldar "need" scorpions, I said it would be a nice idea, it's not a priority I only explained how I would do the whole thing. Also what does that whole daemonettes and marines with power sword thing have to do with anything? What I'm "free" to do does not have anythi...

Re: A fair point made on a Youtube video

Agreed. The wargears got buffed to their current state because they were useless before because people wouldn't just run straight at you. The point of these grenades and in fact nearly all grenades isn't, counter intuitively, to move stuff out of cover or AB, in fact it is to get retreat kills and t...

Re: Vindicator, swooping hawks.

Swooping hawks are unecessary, scorpions on the other hand are a nice idea, a melee unit that doesn't do power melee (with the exarch having the scorpion power fist, don't remember its name) being heavier than other eldar units, specialized on hunting high model enemy infantry would fit a role that...

regarding pathing: if a big unit (WB, vehicle...) is surrounded by little units (a squad), it sometimes gets stuck, shouldn't the little units always move out of the way? Yeah... There is an exploit where you get infantry (preferable one with high pathing priority like a CL/HT) and then just spam '...

Having a free heal (both AOE and targeted) for a race which doesn't lose models unless the squad is very low on health sounds pretty awesome to me. Imagine all of IG squads sharing damage (acting like Catas do) and the LG having an option to get his Medpacks for cheaper and more often. Yeah, sure t...

Painboy is a T2 unit, plain and simple, he should be mutually exclusive with the weirdboy and they would cover 2 different roles, the weirdboy would protect ranged armieri with his attack/vomit/AoE speed to kite, the painboy would support melee armies his heal and give them an edge with the explosi...

Why do eldar need them? There is no point adding random units for no reason, it just upsets balance. Eldar don't need a jump unit in t1 otherwise how do you counter hawks+rangers+shees, melee spam?

Re: Space Marine Topic

There is a strong difference between buying an item, or a unit, to perform a certain ability (meaning then you can't buy something else that might be fulfilling a different, albeit very needed role), and having it "for free". That's like me going on about how weak the Commissar's shield i...

Re: Imperial Guard Topic

The LG healing ability seems to be insanely strong, especially in team games. The area of effect is huge (which is not so much of a problem) and the healing rate is insane (which IS a problem). I am suddenly tanking Blight Nades, Purity Vials, Clouds and Banshees with Guardsmen. The heal affects al...

Re: Bugs/Issues Thread

This may be related to how the sigil of the rift can sometimes pull back already retreating set-up squads. I have seen a set-up squad get pulled back while desetting up, while it had the retreat indicator above it. Weird how that works, but I'm not sure. I heard that was to do with the sigil pullin...

@ Raffa - Please elaborate then on what isn't true. That would be far more productive than pulling quotes out of their context and lining them up in front of the firing squad. If you're complaining about ASM beating sluggas then you're doing something wrong. Sluggas cost 270 whereas asm cost 450/50 ...
