I don't think the fact that it is piercing matters - it matters what kind of damage source it is. The damage from the splash is not a ranged attack, it's an aoe effect from an ability.

There is a way to make custom badges for DOW2. If you look up how to do that you can just make them yourself by making appropriately-sized copies of the DOW3 badges and sticking them in whichever folder custom badges go in.

Plasma devs have area-of-effect, anti-all, screen-range damage with the ability to knock back everything short of vehicles (I think they even still knock back retreating units) all for 0 power. The fire prism should not even be in this comparison. It's a different class of vehicle in the way it is used. It should be classified more like vehicle artillery. The Vanquisher is fine: as Torpid said, the upgrade sacrifices AOE, so it is only good against vehicles and maybe for picking off single models at a time (which is usually not the most efficient use of a tank's time in T3).

Maybe they were accidentally given kommando fist as a weapon? I've heard that thing reads most of the stats right out of the game files.

DA and Shoota melee seems sky-high

I was browsing through the codex and noticed that the current melee DPS values for DAs and Shootas are 11 and 18 dps per model respectively. I was under the impression that it was ~4 for DAs and ~6 for shootas, has this changed recently? Because if it has, it is a massive change for first engagements.
