Nvidia GeForce GT750M laptop?
Hi, can I check if anyone is running DoW2 on a laptop with the GT750M? Is it possible to run at max graphics with the 750M?

Re: New Faction
I agree that Dark Eldar would be something that has less hurdles to implement (I think I posted about this in another thread, with a proposal for a wierd "countdown" red scheme). I also can see a problem with "too many humans" (they're basically sort of overrepresented right now ...

That's all you were asking for. Also, "trying to stop Hillary" won't stop Congress from giving money to NASA or not. The two aren't even related, at least not at the moment. It isn't a campaign issue, and won't be made into one unless one of the candidates brings it up for some reason. Bu...

They're developing the technology now, and hope to have people on Mars by the 2030s. Source: https://www.nasa.gov/content/nasas-journey-to-mars ... I have bad news - this is the kind of PR fluff they put out to not sound completely directionless/missionless. For a mission to get to Mars in the 2030...

Actually NASA is planning to go to Mars quite soon, and programs have already begun. are you talking about the robotic missions (of which there've been a few already)? I can understand the "rationality" of unmanned exploration, but it's like, I'm one of those who can't help but feel it do...

New Faction
OK, I'm aware of this: No new factions, gotta fix what we've got so far. but as an early "throw it out there" - everybody talks about Tau or Dark Eldar as a new faction, but... why not Adeptus Mechanicus (anybody else proposed this already)? Skitarii units in T1, Legio Cybernetica in T2, a...

Re: Failure to start on Windows 8.1
The DX9.0c "web installer" will refuse to run if it detects any trace of a pre-existing DX9c installation (even if it's broken). To work around this, you can use the "full" installer which will just plunk everything down without caring (which is what you want to happen if it's no...

This is anecdotal on my part, but I swear it happens to me only when a Chaos dread makes an appearance. Do those hull bolters on it still fire silently? you might have something there - I don't know about Chaos, but it might be Dread related (SM inclusive) - I recall very clearly one game where I s...

Hey, thanks for the link, I just found this thread: http://www.dawnofwar.info/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=163 from a Google search, even though I *thought* I'd clicked through the "Modding" section to see if there was anything about World Builder.... If you're not willing to put a lot of...

Re: What makes a good 3v3 (or 2v2) map?
I don't really want to "reimplement" maps that already exist (though I should definitely do that first to learn how to do things - WorldBuilder is SUPER COMPLICATED, I'm getting a real appreciation for the amount of work that went in to the existing maps (no wonder the game doesn't have mo...

Re: What makes a good 3v3 (or 2v2) map?
Largely symmetrical. I actually think asymmetry is nice. Symmetry in a map is an easier way for "competition fairness" (I don't have the term for it), but I think it's often nice to have a situation where "ok these are the cards that life has handed you, you've just got to play them ...

What makes a good 3v3 (or 2v2) map?
So, I just got a new PC, and after some stumbling blocks managed to get World Builder running. I'm thinking I'm gonna try my hand at putting together a couple of maps. OK, to answer my own question - I manually installed a whole bunch of "Microsoft VisualC++ redistributable files, and World Builder now runs. I'm not sure if I needed any particular ones (and I hope I haven't opened up any new security holes on my machine) but it works now at least. http://supp...

Steam should actually have run the pre-launch for Retribution, which should've included the latest DX9 distributables. didn't happen for me... it really drove me crazy, since I actually got the new PC specifically to play DoW2! can you imagine, when I kept trying to launch it and it didn't...
