I've been playing COH 2 recently, I would be up for playing some games and showing you the basics etc.

Re: Patch 2.3.1 (Tentative balance changelog preview)
Please for the love of all that is good and holy in this world, don't go through with the changes to snipers/Rangers, it's going to make them (especially Rangers) close to pointless.

Re: Sniper Rework - WIP
The usefulness of Snipers with this change is that they are no longer a lone unit that you send to kill models and retreat, a unit indipendent from the rest of your army, but it's something to keep near your army to weaken the enemy, force him to react and then additional dps for your army when the...

Re: Sniper Rework - WIP
I don't know, these changes look like they will make Sniper and to a larger extent Ranger plays not particularly worthwhile. Scouts will have what, 180 damage spread over 13 seconds instead of the 170 over 12 they have now, which is alright. Their upfront damage is less which seems to be counter-int...

Re: How does one play the Space Elves (Eldar)?
But when it comes to T2 and T3 that's when I fail miserably, I usually just go with the default wraithguard, or a wraithlord. I suggest trying out Warp Spiders if you aren't sure what to get. Their high dps coupled with the haywire grenade make them a good go-to unit come T2. If you want to practic...

Re: the average age of the community
For your argument it just so happens to be the case that it makes no sense because mathematics is not a plural of a noun, it's both the noun in singular and plural form. So you're making a category error. It's like saying we should call "happens" happen because it makes no sense to say yo...

Re: WSE heavy gauge death spinner + improved targeters
This is a pretty strong combination, but you are effectively bottlenecking your WSE to anti-hero duty in T1 and even in T2, and he will be energy starved in T1 if you use Heavy Gauge. Whilst his gates give energy regen, he only gets 10 energy over 10 seconds which isn't much considering the energy c...

I have 2 games vs WorldEdit to post, but apparently the board attachment quota has been reached? So I'll just post the links: http://www.gamereplays.org/dawnofwar2/replays.php?game=47&show=details&id=295484 http://www.gamereplays.org/dawnofwar2/replays.php?game=47&show=details&id=295...

Re: Snipers vs Eldar
I would imagine the bait and trap trick would be quite useful with double rangers and banshees. Given ASM try to jump your setup team, you have at least two sources of kinetic pulse (assuming you only go with 2 squads), and the ability to cloak your banshees. ASM jump your setup team, you use the f...

Re: Snipers vs Eldar
Thanks for the tips, guys. I wish I'd saved some replays where this build beat me, but I didn't next time I play a game against snipers I might save it and put it up here. But I will try using 2 Rangers and post here again with the results/questions etc. Cheers all.

Snipers vs Eldar
Hey all, I was wondering if people could provide me with some tips. I have got no idea how you are supposed to beat double or triple snipers as Eldar. DA shields prevent them from hurting set-up teams etc, but if they get ASM the set-up team can just be jumped and the energy shield destroyed. Double...

Space Marine Melee Resist
I wasn't sure whether or not to put this in Balance or General discussion, so I thought I'd pick the safe option and go with General. Why do Tactical Marines and Scouts get melee resistance? Can someone please explain why they get this, because I can't really see why they should. I guess a case can ...
Re: Grav Gun
So what would the solution be? Unless a suggestion can be made that is less vague than 'more attention', I don't really see what can or should be done. Without some new and interesting asset being developed, unless there is an identifiable gap in the tyranids roster that has a practicable solution ...

Re: Bugs/Issues Thread
I guess this belongs here, although I don't know. Also I haven't gone through the back-log of comments to check whether or not this has already been mentioned, but you can't cancel the Warp Spider Exarch's Anti-Gravity Grenades.
Re: Grav Gun
Very impressive. Too bad SM is getting all this love and not the other factions. I completely agree. It's growing tiresome seeing all the attention and changes being made to Space Marines, whilst all other factions aren't getting anything. Can we stop just continually adding things to Space Marines...

Re: WSE Anti-Grave Grenades
This is why I was confused. Grav blade works on termies, but grav nades don't. I can see why nades wouldn't work on termies because obviously you can throw the grenades and not need to be adjacent to enemies, but in order for them to actually work you to need to be adjacent to enemies, otherwise it'...

WSE Anti-Grave Grenades
Hey all, I was in a game the other day and I tried to use the WSE grav nades on a squad of Terminators, but it didn't work. I was just wondering if this is a bug or an intentional thing. Both option seem equally likely to me.

Re: Bottom Tier Heroes
I think the reason you don't see many WSE players these days is because he struggles against SM/Chaos/Nids more than the other eldar heroes, and those factions seem to be quite popular, especially in tournament games. His lack of AOE or suppression (or in his case, something to facilitate AOE) in t...

Re: Gates and Autarch Upgrades
Would it not be possible to limit this change to only within a radius of your HQ? Surely that would avoid all the issues people have about it being abuseable, wasting opponent's time, and not allowing them to benefit from its destruction etc. It wouldn't be abuseabe if it was in a certain radius of ...

Re: Gates and Autarch Upgrades
I don't like this idea at all. You are supposed to think before you place it somewhere. Not to mention gates cost pop. If you placed it in a bad spot and now suddenly are in need for pop you should have thought about that earlier. I don't see what this has to do with my suggestion. And regarding po...

Re: Eldar advice
Seer Council can be a tough unit. They're tempting to get, because they seem like a tanky melee unit. But they're actually quite fragile. They've only got normal infantry armour which makes them surprisingly squishy. When I get them it's to counter ranged units as opposed to melee. They're good agai...

Gates and Autarch Upgrades
Hey all, I just have a couple questions I'd like to ask everyone. Firstly, what do people think of being able to scuttle Webway Gates? Now wait a second before the rage starts flying at me. I ask this because occasionally Rangers and other units can get stuck in Webways, which can be a real pain. So...
