Re: Elite Mod for OSX (Mac)

so I played with moving the original dow2.ucs and elite.ucs files in an out of the english folder, and it seems that the issue is that the computer is only using either one at a time, not both.

Re: Elite Mod for OSX (Mac)

Ok, so I moved the files under the Retribution Data file, and the mod works. All that's left now is the NoRange bug, which is odd, since I only have the original dow2.ucs and elite.ucs under it. I did move the elite.ucs file from the locale/english file that came from the mod zip into the original d...

Re: Elite Mod for OSX (Mac)

Thanks for the reply, but Elite.module actually isn't in the Elite folder, despite how it looks. It's under Dawn War 2 - Retribution.

Re: Elite Mod for OSX (Mac)

I would like some help on getting the mod to run on OSX. So, I saw the previous comments on what files should be placed, and I'm pretty sure I have the files correctly placed. https://i.imgur.com/d4MayQl.png However, the game still crashes upon launch whenever I have the launch options for the mod. ...

Re: Elite Mod 2.5.1

Is there anyway we could get a zip of the 2.5.1 files? I'm playing this on mac, so the mod installer and updater don't work, and copy/pasting the files into the place is the alternative. Also, I did download the 2.5.0 zip file, and while it generally turned out great, the Techmarine and the Grey Kni...

Re: DLC Replacers & Sterling's New Stuff

I was wondering if the Terminators in the Luna Wolves scheme could be colored black, red, and gold, and perhaps given a topknot to represent them being 1st Company Justaerin Terminators. It'd be kind of like the Blood Angels assault marines being black for Death Company and Dark Angels terminators b...

Re: Question Regarding Upgrades/Color Scheme Text

Thanks a lot Indrid, that really helped.

Now in an unrelated note, I noticed that the Iron Warriors CSM squads don't have a bolter firing sound effect when they do their ranged attack. Is that a problem others are having, or is it just me?

Question Regarding Upgrades/Color Scheme Text

I downloaded Codex Edition back around February, and ever since I did, I have no longer been able to see the descriptions of some upgrades. Basically all upgrades that have changes made to them from retail version have the descriptive text something to the effect of "$10010003 No Range" or...

Re: What are those cables in Chaos power armour?

That depends on the armor. Mark IV, which came out just before the Heresy and was mostly distributed by the then-loyal Warmaster Horus to like-minded (Traitor) legions, is supposedly among the most advanced armor types ever, on par with the current Mark VI. Mark III is tough as balls from the front,...

Re: Every model different

Personally, I would like to see a mix and match for CSM squads using the heads and bodies of the common, rare, and epic models. The lack of uniformity would make it really seem like a CSM warband scrounging up whatever they can find and customizing on top of it.

Re: Necrons

I like the models, and the wraithguard skeleton is perfect. However, I always thought basic Gauss Flayers were more like beams of crackling energy rather than lightning arcs, which was separated into the new Tesla weapons from 5th/6th Edition.

Re: So, the new Tyranids are out

I thought it wasn't the spore mines that used ork DNA, but rather, it was the beast that shot the spore mines out like artillery. I think they were called biovores. But given that spore mines are grown from inside biovores, perhaps ork DNA was incorporated into the growing mechanism.

Re: Terminators

As a guy who likes chaos terminators, I wouldn't mine taking away LC and giving them power weapons and combi-meltas at 4500 hp. It helps maintain the Chaos Terminators' flexibility. I know that Caeltos wants the Chaos army to stick to the theme of specialization, but at least in TT, flexibility and ...

Re: Create New (viable) Chaos Units

Sorry for double post, but come to think about it, the Possessed could be a workable replacement for the bloodletters. Chaos now have two jump infantry units, and replacing bloodletters with possessed that have daemon kin properties could bring that back down to one. The only question if that route ...

Re: Create New (viable) Chaos Units

I really like these ideas, but I'm going to have to agree with Kvek and Asmon. The factions generally don't need new units. Personally, I never liked bloodletters, bloodcrushers, and the GUO, and I prefer possessed as the closest thing to chaos-kin that a CSM army (and not a chaos army) would get. I...

Re: Terminator Force Commander Heavy Flamer

I disagree, I don't really quite like the Terminators quite trying to seemingly dance around in the army painter, like Orkfaeller said, but in game, who's going to see that? On the other hand, I think the hunched over slightly looking down appearance of the terminators matches the general feel the t...

Re: Playing Retail?

Yeah, I'll admit it I need to make myself feel good every now and then. The frequency of me winning in retail is a much, much higher than in ELITE due to the average quality of players in retail compared to that of ELITE. That's not to say that I win every game in retail, or an overwhelmingly high f...

Re: Playing Retail?

After being beaten up too badly in ELITE, I sometimes go back to retail to pwn guys who picked up the game during the steam sale. Then, after doing so to regain some artificially inflated confidence, I go back to ELITE to have my ass handed to me again. Still, being beaten in ELITE is more fun than ...

I don't know if you guys have seen the art in the codex depicting the Centurion, but in the art, the Centurion actually looks pretty good. I am definitely not a fan of the centurions. I was already meh about the Tau Riptides, Eldar Wraithknights, and GK Dreadknights, but this attempt by SM to hop on the mecha/exo-suit wagon is just stupid. I wonder what it's statline will be like

Re: Post your character!

How about a Chaplain? The model can be used from the Legion and the Damned models with an Iron Halo on top of the back pack, since they already have got the skull helmets and skeleton theme. He's kind of similar, I suppose, to the Force Commander, in that he's going to be doing decent melee with the...

Re: What lies in the future?

I think if Necrons were to be implemented, the resurrection protocol would have to be limited to commander globals and purchasing resurrection orbs as commander wargear. Having models resurrect on their own, even if only infrequently, is too hard to balance and would probably be too random, making t...

Re: Wish Lists (for beyond 2.1)

Nice Chaos models there. It'd be cool if we could replace GUO with the Daemon Prince to make a more god-neutral CSM army. Of course, the animations to make equivalent abilities between GUO and Daemon Prince don't exist, so that's too bad

Re: Grey Knights Topic

I think the main issue is that there should be some sort of hard AV for the Grey Knights that does not need to come on an expensive dreadnought platform. Every other race pays 30 power at most for their hard AV. It's not really fair for Grey Knights to have to make them pay 120 power for a dreadnoug...

Why should Sternguard trounce TCSM? Both are T2, TCSM with EW + AC is more expensive than Sternguards, and though Sternguards do less damage against HI, they are more flexible with their rounds against vehicles, cover, and normal inf. They also have ATSKNF. I'm not really sure why there's a limit of...
