Re: 2.9.2 Patch Preview

some very interesting stuff, thanks for the continued work! time field nerf doesn't look small... Maybe I missed the meta for too long, do gud players find Farseer consistently overperforming in T3? It's always been hard to compare T3 abilities vs raw damage, but saying that it's one of the most pow...

Re: D-cannons and what they are now

aaaaaaaaaa... (petty mode on) been saying it since the nerf happened yeaaaars ago effectively halving the D-Cannon damage against inherently moving targets such as vehicles felt like particularly reckless as far as nerfs go, and never called for at that time. You might still deal more than 50% damag...

Re: 2.9 Balance List as of 10/28/18

thanks a lot for the continued support! quick concerns: Lowering damage per hit for the fire prism, even at constant dps, feels like an important nerf. The fire prism (in my not-pro experience) brings a lot as a finisher, landing the last hit on an escaping vehicle. As no one pointed out any issue a...

Re: Fire dragons

thanks! Well, instead of popping a new thread, if I may ask: I think after all this time I still somewhat struggle with my eldar AV. Notably against melee dreadnoughts it seems. I guess it's very dependent on current compositions, but what is the appropriate investment? Should it always come to tran...

Fire dragons

I really struggle to see when to use them, either in 1v1 or teams. On paper they are still really scary but they fall so fast I always feel it's a gamble. So when do people buy them, against what? Walkers, tanks? Are warp spiders mandatory to make them work? Is it a question of the opponent composit...

give a try to fetid armor too, micro-friendly amazingly long AoE control, a really reliable solution to simultaneous hero-shee charges

Re: Banshees Melee Skill too high?

blablabla double shees Well you can play 2x shees with WL, channeling runes in t1 then CoS in t2. It works vs nids for example, you can try it against SM (not FC). Also WSE with mass teleport loves several shees, though that's more of a teamgames' strategy. I love 2shees+CoS in 3v3 wide maps but I'...

Re: The Issue with Eldar

Looks like I poked a Hornet's Nest. Talking of buffing FP/D-cannon/Avatar was never really my point, but can we all agree that Dark Reapers getting a tune-up and being moved to T3 is an option to consider , at least? P.s. But if shees lose, say, their power blades, the whole eldar composition colla...

captive purchases

before I develop some thoughts on particular units, I would like to verify if the concept seems legit for enough people instead of justifying it in another thread. Do you think it's possible that a unit can actually be bad for its cost or tier, but you don't see it reflected in pick frequency becaus...

Re: The Issue with Eldar

About the avatar... I don't find him (her? it) that bad, really good tactically at forcing back the enemy line just with implied threat, particularly with cloak of shadows/fortune/orb support... but maybe it's only a mid level player thing? As people say, a way to add salt to a victory instead of ma...

Re: Why is SM so strong in 3v3? - Analysis

well if people find it meh in 1v1, I'm not for nerfing the WW per se, any nerf to its KB should be compensated so it's more useful in 1v1, maybe just more damage, or less spread out impact.

Re: The Issue with Eldar

@OP First 3v3 videos can be misleading. Impregnable explained in the other thread how small laney maps were favoured, which doesn't help eldar. Beyond that, other factions are more suited to the general lack of communication, while I really think Eldar could shine with highly synchronized teams, the...

Re: Banshees Melee Skill too high?

OO yea my bad. Either way what i said stands though. Would hardly change much about them other than making double shees worse. If there is a good build like that (farseer maybe?) It's the only early T1 squad that we never ever see in pairs actually, unless anyone has an example. I absolutely love t...

Re: Why is SM so strong in 3v3? - Analysis

I think a good compass when changes are discussed is immersion and consistency. One way to tone down a bit the WW is to add friendly fire knock back. It will just feel less silly, even without balance considerations. I can't think of any other knock back that doesn't to friendly fire.

Lore wise, I'm disappointed that no SM hero has the jump pack option, it makes so much more sense than teleporting in power armour. (totally derailing thread but replacing teleport with jump pack for the force commander would make him look awesome while giving a chance to avoid the telehammer <3 En...

Setup and Teardown time increased from .75 and .5 seconds to 1 and .75 seconds respectively. Kinetic Pulse damage reduced from 25 to 5. Pathfinder Gear energy regeneration increase reduced from +2 e/s to +1 e/s. Pathfinder Gear no longer reduces the cooldown of Kinetic Pulse. (Now from 35 seconds to...

Re: Ranger kinetic shot

I think that them doing such high damage on retreat and frankly such high splash damage in the first place with kinetic pulse is the wrong direction for them and neither are necessary. I'd remove both and either slightly reduce the cost of the pathfinder upgrade or further reduce the CD on kinetic ...

Re: AV tanks damage vs commanders

well maybe the problem is not the Tanks but the single characters that are too vulnerable to single shots... maybe it's a question of immersion, I'm ok with the vindi sniping another secondary commander, it just feels weird when a lascannon shot is so precise. But fine then, I'll just have to find t...

AV tanks damage vs commanders

I'm not talking about specific factions here, just in general I feel that the main guns of many battle tanks are too good at sniping secondary commanders in particular... like it shouldn't be their role. I don't know, I have lost countless autarchs to predator or phobos lascannons, I guess it happen...

Re: Ranger kinetic shot

their set-up / de-setup time is being nerfed already. Removing kinetic shot damage on retreat is necessary. Sure it's not a lot, but beyond that let's just see how they softly evolve, they don't seem that broken as to deserve any reckless move. Maybe a small price increase on the pathfinder update, ...

if I may add, from a mid-level mainly eldar perspective, for what's worth (no, really, don't listen to me): If you lose the first engagement, well avoid the first engagement 8-) just use the eldar way against them, slowly kite them into your base. They have very poor gen bashing capacity in tier 1, ...

Re: Would you be interested in a competitive 3v3 tournament? Let's talk about it.

I've never managed to organize my time for a tournament yet I really support the idea, hoping to participate some day. Fixed teams would be something new, though harder to organize. It's always been a paradox that the "legitimate" mode is 1v1 but the massively played one is casual 3v3, so ...

well I exaggerated ^^ let's say that, unless combined with WS, fire dragons are a very risky counter to tanks (looted, preds, non vanquisher lemons) that deal aoe explosive... in my mid-level experience at least. I gave up using them against anything else than melee walkers.

anyway heavy armor is quite a poisoned gift past T1, or a way to balance large HP pools that would be op without it :P
(to the point most tanks are decent hard counters to fire dragons)
